Relationships: (see important tidbits to make sense of this) His husband and soul mate is Set, and he loves him with all his heart, mind, body, and soul. His heart mate is Skyler Moon, and though the two rarely do anything intimate there is still a strong love between them. Though the bond is now fading and likely to vanish altogether, his life mate is his brother Rima, and though that happened completely by accident, it only strengthened the bond between them (Rima was drunk and would have unintentionally raped Aiden if Aiden hadn’t given in and accepted the mating, as he still dearly loved his brother). Aiden and Rima feel only brotherly love towards each other, though their life-mate status does mean that once in awhile they need (and want) physical intimacy with each other. Such closeness renews their bond and keeps them from feeling as if they were rejected, thus preventing any illnesses that could arise from such a complicated situation. Lastly there is Chaos, who is an enigma. Chaos is Set’s other half, and as Set’s soul was literally split into two bodies, Chaos and Set share a soul. This means that though Aiden and Chaos are bonded and can have sex and link their energies and other such things that only mates and family can do. For now the two have become friends and are attracted to each other, and though they have enjoyed each other’s company in and out of the bedroom, there is no romantic love between them.
Personality: Aiden is fierce, loyal, overly-protective, honorable, and so much more. He is an excellent King and his people are proud to have him on the throne. He is a doting husband/mate, and a loving and over-protective parent. He is very close with his brother Rima, and though he’s begun to get over what he’s always seen as Celes’ betrayal, he still rarely speaks with her. He misses his parents, but not overly much. Though they taught him well how to be a prince and how to live and rule, they were never terribly close. He still avenged their deaths, but time has helped.
Aiden is the strongest of his warriors, and he pokes fun at his bodyguards because of it. He also tends to sneak off sometimes and watch them from various hiding places just to watch them freak out. Then he’ll pop back into the center of them and remind them that he is stronger than all of them and fully capable of defending himself. Then one of them, usually Galen, will remind him that his greater strength won’t mean much if he’s outnumbered or distracted.
Aiden likes to do parties. As king he doesn’t get out as much as he did when his parents were still around, so he hosts all sorts of parties from elaborate fancy balls to clubbing parties where his ballroom is decked out like a vampiric nightclub. He invites the whole kingdom and sometimes people from other kingdoms and whatnot, just for the fun of it. Then back to paperwork and treaties, alliances and civil law.
He’s actually a great King, he’s a brilliant strategist and he’s extremely charismatic. He has few enemies and a great many friends as almost everyone who meets him likes him pretty quickly. He’s allied himself with Kieran, Vampire-king of a large clan, Cyrus, King of Elves, and he is close friends with Asheron the Dragon-shifter who is his diplomatic liaison with the dragons and dragon-shifters in the forests of Arye that run through Elgavin. Through Ash he has an alliance with them as well.
He holds court during the summer months where Lords and Ladies may stay in the extra wing of the palace or in nearby hotel-type dwellings, and he hosts meetings where he hears about the goings-on in various corners of his land. He also sits upon the throne to hear from his people of any grievances or requests for justice or charity or what have you. He’s actually quite charitable with his money, as he can get more of it easily without taxing his people extra. And if he hears of roads being raided or anything of the like he will send out a squadron of the royal guard to deal with the problem.
He is also very recently a Father, and as his firstborn and heir Jayde is very well protected. Aiden may love to fight and play and tease and prank, but he will defend his Kingdom, his people, his loved-ones, and his family with his life, and his skillset makes that a very deadly combo to any opponents that may think otherwise.
Lastly, Aiden loves clothing. Were he a hume he would be a fashion designer. Not overly flamboyant obviously gay type, but just a nice-looking man who designs sexy, gorgeous, beautiful functional clothing for men, women, and children.
Important tidbits: Firstly, Vampire elves mate for life. Secondly, vampire-elves can have between 1-4 mates, but each mate is of a different sort. Aiden has 3. If the vampire-elf has only 1 mate and that mate dies or leaves them, the vampire-elf will die. However, if they have children, the living vampire-elf will not die until the children are of age or ability to care for themselves, and as soon as they are, the living mate will die. If a vampire-elf is like Aiden and has multiple mates, they will die when their soul-mate dies, but the deaths of other mates will still cause them to be very ill and weak, until time and closeness to their soul-mate heal them.
Lastly, a vampire-elf can only have sex with their mates, and if anyone were to force themselves on a vampire-elf that did not feel the pull of a mate from them, not only would the sex be extremely painful for the vampire-elf, but a bond would be formed and they would become mates, even if they were not meant to be. Such a thing is a rarity because most species are aware of this and it is a very serious crime to rape a vampire-elf (or any species for that matter). On the occasion that it does happen, the vampire-elf in question has two choices. While in the act of mating they can give in, consent to it and choose to mate with the other person, or they can continue to resist and one of two things can happen. Either they manage escape before the bond completes, thus freeing themselves, or they are unable to escape and they are forced to bond with their attacker.
The main problem for them if that happens, besides the hatred and resentment, is that every day they will be in constant pain, feeling as if they betrayed the mate they hadn’t met yet, as if they cheated on them. And if ever they were to meet the one who they feel the pull of a mate for, then the pain would intensify to a crippling level and the vampire-elf would likely turn suicidal. If someone else were to kill the attacker/mate, the vampire-elf would get sick as per usual, but even if they only were meant to have 1 mate, they would not die as this was not their choice. They would recover, though they would likely be unable to stand the touch of anyone other than their true mate after that, and they would likely hide deep in the forests and train themselves in isolation until they were bonded with their intended mate, though the chances of meeting said mate are highly unlikely in the mostly uninhabited deep forest.
