Not saying that everyone READING THIS is an a*****e, but still.
If you have played and beaten Other M, you probably remember the scene where Samus can't shoot at Ridley. She's rendered useless, standing there, feeling like she's three years old again.
She can't shoot.
People bitched and moaned about this, and it makes my blood boil.
I feel like I should let you all know that Samus has PTSD. I know this comes as a shock to the lot that believes that she's this perfect badass who doesn't feel anything ever, but when you think about it ...
Why the ******** wouldn't she?
Ridley killed her own mother right in front of her and decimated her colony. This scarred her for life. And can you blame her? Can you really blame her? That would horrify almost anyone, especially if they were only THREE at the time.
"She fought him before!"
True, very true ... but when you see him--the actual one--right in front of you when you weren't expecting it? I mean, CHRIST!
She was expecting him on her first mission.
Probably expecting him in Prime (I still can't finish the game, I wouldn't know).
The Pirates were involved during Super Metroid, so she was more than likely expecting him there, as well.
He appeared out of nowhere on the Bottle Ship. The pirates were not connected to this! Seeing something that scares you to death THAT MUCH would trigger the disease, I am MORE THAN SURE.
Since this is a rambling thing, I'll just link you to an article that explains this far better than I ever could.
Samus is still a badass ... BUT SHE'S HUMAN TOO.

People are just foolish these days, they don't think about how the characters (real or not) may feel because of certain events, and that angers me.
They think that they don't feel bad just going around killing so many people, like with Link, I like that in Twilight Princess he has flaws, and hearing that they did this with Samus makes me like that character even more.
I like when characters that seem perfect are given flaws, it makes them more....human.
In KH2, they gave Sora (hinted) anger issues, as well as weaknesses, and that made me appreciate that character even more.
I thin people do need to open up more to characters being more "human" it connects people more to the game, story, and character.
I support you all the way! D: < Samus is still awesome!
EDIT:
Oh, and Tales of Symphonia! I can't forget that game, all the characters have their weaknesses, an example is when you take an alternate path in the game and one of the characters ends up turning on your party...The character I'm playing as is shown crying in one scene after she ends up killing her best friend and she remains extremely sad for a long time. All the characters in that game have their flaws and whatnot, that attached me to them.
I like that characters are being made more human!
