No Love Like Overkill
The duffel bag, in the end, requires Rise's help. As they drop it on the elevator floor, she giggles. "I didn't know you were so popular, Zoey. Did every single customer give you one?"
The mechanic only smiles as she pulls one of many heart shaped lollipops out. "Oh, no. Most of these are from the girls. Jackie was quite nice to buy me a bag, and of course Mister Auditore had to drop by. He was quite dashing and brought something for everyone."
"Really?"
"Oh yes. I believe Xandra was quite flattered; when he snuck into her garage to give her a rose, she aimed for his head and not his knees." As they wait, Zoey claps her hands in excitement. "I simply can't wait to see Voxden. I hope he likes the present I got him."
"Of course he will." Rise smiles and runs her fingers over the gift she'd gotten, a beautiful bird brooch. "He's Voxden." While it would be boastful to say so, they both know he loves everything they do. For all his rude jokes and occasionally obnoxious behavior towards other people, he's truly loyal and adoring of them. It's one of his better qualities."What did you get him?"
"One of those video games he's so amused by. You?"
"A collection of musicals." Then the elevator dings, and the pair hoist up the duffel bag. However, as they walk, a heady scent of flowers becomes quickly noticeable. Rise's nose twitches as she takes it in. "My, there must be a lot of couples on our floor," she says, only partially serious as Zoey fiddles with the lock. Of course, once the door swings open... They can both only blink.
Flowers have been shoved everywhere in their little apartment. Only a select few bouquets have actually been placed in vases, or anything similar. The rest of been shoved between books, poke out from drawers and lay scattered across the couch. It's as if an entire flower shop has exploded in their apartment. And, standing on top of the couch, Voxden is still trying to staple a few more to the ceiling. Blinking, he looks over to them and then grins lazily. "Oh hey, don't mind me, just gaying up the place."
As Rise bursts into giggles, Zoey beams and bounces into the apartment. "Voxden! Where did-"
"Stole my roommate's credit card again," Voxden says dismissively, bounding off of the couch and grabbing an armful of bouquets off of the coffee table. Beaming like an excited puppy, he holds them out to his two loves.
"Happy Valentine's day!"
