The once powerful queen was now gone.
She sheathed her sword, scowling at where the remains had been before they blew away in the wind.
A gentle stroke of her hair stirred her from her reverie, making her meet his grey eyes.
"You came crawling back." She growled to him, her voice tainted with cold venom.
He scoffed. "At least I came back," he remarked with slight acid in his voice.
She met his slightly irritated and exasperated scowl with an equally stubborn and disbelieving scowl, finally lowering her gaze after a few moments.
"I was almost afraid I'd lost you, back there." She murmured.
He scoffed again. "Dearest Ana mine, you're more deluded than I am." He took her by her face and kissed her firmly, passionately.
Ana shivered and kissed back fiercely, feeling his fingers snake to her neck and shoulders.
Lestat released her of the trance, returning to holding her face in his hands. "I said I'd keep my promise, didn't I?" He wondered.
She sighed and folded her arms around his neck, giving him a faint smile. "You did. And I'm grateful for that," she mused, reaching to stroke his face.
He smirked slightly as she absently ran a hand down his exposed chest. "Enjoying the view?" He teased coolly.
Ana rolled her eyes. "Foolish b@stard prince." She growled, stroking his chest out of habit.
"Stubborn beautiful countess." Lestat shot back calmly, earning a laugh from her.

Bright lights illuminated the night-stricken city.
Sirens wailed loudly in the distance.
The city truly was a sight at night.
A soft breeze stole through the busy nightlife, catching at her tousled strands as it played lightly with her dark hair.
She attempted to push her hair back when the wind caught at it again, a frown forming on her pale face.
"Didn't think you'd like Chicago," her companion mused as he reappeared at her side.
She shook her head, giving a faint smile when he kissed her neck softly in greeting. "I don't, but then again, I don't mind it." She answered calmly.
He smirked at her familiar way of speaking. "OK, then, princess. Pick a different place." He suggested lightly, looking at her with amusement.
Ana put her finger to her chin. "Hmmm, Tokyo sounds nice." She mused, smiling teasingly at him.
Lestat rolled his eyes before doing a little bow. "As you wish, my lady." He obliged, straightening.
Ana laughed quietly and jumped into his arms, kissing him sweetly. Lestat smiled a rare genuine smile, squeezing her hips as he hoisted her high...
