The battle ends.
The war... has been won.
Would that it ended... with you still here.
But there is still hope in these dark lands.
You promised me I'd never be alone.
And I know you'd keep your promise.
Even in death.
But this sadness that touches my heart?
Is it truly sadness?
Or is it joy? Joy that our world has been freed?
Are you still here?
Still standing beside me, guiding my arm through our battles?
I still hear the breeze whisper your name.
And I know you have not yet left me.
You went on a journey, they said.
We parted ways so many years ago.
But again... once again, one day, we'll meet.
The battle ends.
There is peace in my soul.
The war has been won.
The lands are safe.
But until that fateful night I see you,
Walking towards me on that lone, dusty path,
I will continue to wait.
If you haven't forgotten me, our paths shall cross once more
And along that dusty road shall be us two travellers.
Side by side, sharing the stories of our journeys.
The battle has ended.
The war? the war has been won.
I wrote all this while listening to the ending theme of Legend of Dragoon. I guess you might call it poetry.
