Many refuse to believe in fate, stating that they make their own destiny.
However, this is both true and false. You control your destiny but you do not control your fate. How so? The events that will happen in your life have already been set into place, be it through your actions, the actions of another, or the thoughts, opinions, and characteristics of yourself as well as all other beings. However, I am not saying your future is "predetermined" by a higher power, it's more like it has already happened, although it hasn't happened to you yet in this lifetime. We would like to say that we control our fate, but we dont because we don't know what it is until it happens. One may call himself trying to change his fate through an action, but he was already fated to make that action intstead of the action he substituted it for.
How do I know all this? I know this because we sometimes (usually in our sleep when we are closer to the Other Side) see events before they happen. Most of the time, that is what Deja Vu is. We dreampt the events, and later they actually happen. The most critical proof of this is one time I was walking with my friends to one of their houses. One of them showed me something on her arm, and I got Deja Vu. After thinking about it, I realized that I'd dreampt this exact moment in time years before I had even met any of the people I was with on that day. How could I have known that I was going to meet those people and recreate the scene I'd dreampt several years from that day?
The news that you do not control your fate should not affect your life in any way. Don't feel as if you should do nothing because you have no control. Do whatever you feel you should because what you wind up doing is what would have wound up doing anyway.
