Held within this soul,
Dreams of passion, lust and love.
But gazing through my eyes,
Around me I see only the tortured world
That I once knew as home.

Could it be true?
Could strength be my guide?
If I look toward the sun,
Would I see a goal, a land to walk toward?

Turning behind me I can only see
The burnt and desolate land
That has been left in my wake

I know not how much longer
I can hold back my tears

But if you stood by my side,
Perhaps I could make it through.

You were always there for me,
To encourage me,
To hold my hand when I was afraid

Will you stand by me once again?
Protect me from wind and rain
Accompany me on my journey
To reach this new land?

My strength comes from you,
My hope brought on by your wisdom
I feel my heart beats solely for you.
Perhaps my land is the one you already reside in.
