Hey! How are you!
Hey there! I'm fine and yo-*person walked off already*
Don't you hate when that happens? In America, we're all in such a rush that it becomes pointless to even pratice cordialities. I made an entry about this a while ago about smiling at people, and it's kinda on the same idea.
Here's the scenario. I'm walking down the hall towards the area where I eat lunch. Someone who knows me looks up, sees me, and waves, shouting, "Hey there!" So I turn and look and return, "Hey!" and a smile. S/he walks toward me with a bunch of friends and ask, "How're you?" But before I even have enough time to answer back, they're gone. Walking off.
Alright, so I'm thinking, what was the point of that? A trade of "hey's" and "hello's" would have been enough. So why did they add the exchanging of conversation when they didn't have the time to exchange? It's sort of pointless, isn't it? I think so. And I dunno, as I've never done it myself, it seems kinda rude. You know how people hold food in front of animals and snatch it away just as they snap at it? Well, it's the same thing. You're holding human contact in front of someone, then snatching it away when they try and get it.
Sometimes I just don't answer when they ask me this, thinking they'll walk off. That never turns out well because it's the times when I don't snap, they'll give me the treat. e.e; Then they get angry and "hurt," saying I'm cold and unresponsive. >>; Well, yeah. You snatched the treat away one too many times, bub. Live with it.

3nodding And yeah, I have people like that on my end, too. It's like time is money. Hello! You're teens. You've got lots of time. Unless... twisted Ahem. None of that.
