I started shop in my new school Friday, I haven't decided to post about it until now, though. Anyway, my first exploratory is electrical, I though it would be really fun with my obession of electricity and all. But, apparently during the Summer a bunch of people were supposed to come in and redo the shops...but they never came. So now they have all the students do the work. The first day totally sucked, I had to sweep out a room full of sheet rock and then build shelves. Monday was a half day because of 9/11 and yesterday I just watched my friends build a shelf. Today was actually quite enjoyable. In the morning, one of the jouniors brought a game. Here's how it works:
You have four 'controllers' and one box. The box has a light on it that blinks green and red, and the contollers each have one red button. The object of the game is to push the red button when the light is green. If you push it when it's red, someone else pushes it first, or you don't push it at all...then you get shocked. It's not one of those little shocks in the trick pens either, it's a big, 5 second long buzz. (this may not sound like much, but believe me, it hurts)
So, being who they are the guys all decided it would be fun if they just zapped themselves instead of actually playing the game. After a while, they got bored of getting shocked in the hand...and decided to try other parts of the body. [[Hey! get yer mind outta the gutter. The controllers didn't go into anyone's pants]].
They put two contollers around their necks like collars, they hung them off of their ears, put them on their chest, their head, in their shoes, ect.
My class was sitting at the table on the other side of the room, but the shouts of pain attracted us.
After Mr. Ando yelled at us we all had to get back to work, but then the break cart came so we all ate breakfast instead. By the way, has anyone ever had a 'breakfast pizza'? That's what they were selling this morning. It was like a piece of french toast made with wheat bread, with scrambled eggs and bacon and ham and cheese on it. It ws really weird. Derik ate two of them, and has football practice later, so we're all kind of scared for him (those things were really greasy xd ).
Once we finished eating, we played the game again, but we got yelled at again and went to work. My group had to paint lines on the wall for the booths that are going to be made. My group is Olivia, Taylor, Brandon, and Gumby. His real name is unknown to me, but I finally found out why he is called Gumby. For one thing, he's always chewing gum, and also, he can bend his arm backwards. His elbow is like a swinging door, it's gross gonk (however freakishly cool)
So, yeah. Next week is academics again and then I have Early Childhood Career, which is basically day care. Oh! One of my "academic" classes is called Yoga and Self-Defense. We aren't allowed to bring weapons into school, so they're going to teach us how to kick a** with fans! 4laugh Woot!
