Part Three. A Moment, A Dream
Tomo waved goodbye to the vanishing void. Then her anger exploded. “That Advent!” She screamed out. “He makes me so angry! How did Kari put up with him? That b*****d! That b*****d! That b*****d!”
Renka could only look at Tomo with a disappointment before continuing playing with her fans.
“That…felt good.” Tomo panted, trying to catch her breathe. She turned to Renka, “Hey? Do you want to spar?” Tomo, herself couldn’t explain it, but she was very well hoping for Renka to say yes.
“Sure. Why not?” Renka responded dead-panned. “Nothing better to do.” She stood up letting her fans open at her sides.
“Ready?” Tomo, now standing up, summoned her elemental blade. “Set?” She positioned herself. “Go!” She yelled out confidently. She came in swiftly, “I’m not gonna hold back! Please give it your all!” It was a small request that she would come to regret easily. Renka shrugged.
“Ok. Fine by me.” She replied placing a fan in front of herself waiting for Tomo to make a mistake. The two parried each others blows quite easily. After a short time, Renka blew her fans creating gusts of wind knocking back Tomo. The reincarnate was now desperately looking for an alternative to beat Renka, the wind mistress. She swung her sword in front of her.
“Lightning Typhoon!” She shouted out blasting the wind away, directly at Renka. Instead of moving out of the way as Tomo had hoped, Renka blew her fans again creating a small tornado to suck up the lightning. The lightning was too much for the tornado, or the other way, for the result was an explosion that sent Tomo into an unconscious state.
Death, plague, screams of terror, laughs of haunting, and eternal loss. A flash of light. She could feel herself, on the ground, but unknowing of where she was. She cradled herself and rocked back and forth. An angelic being approached her, and bent down in front of her. “K…K-ari-s-sama?” She asked, tears flowing form her face. Kari put a finger against Tomo lips to help calm her.
“Don’t cry little one.” The Princess said gently. “Don’t cry. No need to feel sad.”
As the manifestation continued, Advent and Star watched from their void. “She’s hopeless.” His face formed a frown. “Absolutely hopeless.” He muttered. Star turned and glared at him.
“Now, why do you have to judge her so harshly? She’s done a good job. We just need to assist in defeating Haku.” Advent could only stare at the saddened Tomo.
“She can’t fight him and you know it.” He turned to Star to impose his words with a stare. “In this state of mind, no. She may be strong and determined, but she needs more. She can’t win.” Star returned his stare angrily. She began to walk off into another void.
“Remember, we’re supposed to protect her.” She said before disappearing. Advent breathed deeply. He looked back at Tomo.
“We’ll have to see what happens.”
