And here comes now, the very dreaded fifth story..
I did not enjoy writing it so much, but it had to be done.
Enjoy~
After being forced by the mob of angry women to leave The Clearing, the Boar King was made to sign their constitution. The Boar King was very unhappy to sign their contitution, for it limited his rule over the forest. He was no longer the ultimate power, and this angered him so. It angered him to the point where he had total disreguard for the well being of his forest...
For many years the forest of Golden Leaf had been warring with the farm of Tall Grasses. Though the Peacock Queen marrying the Boar King had quieted things for some time, the farm of Tall Grasses itched at the chance to fight again with the forest of Golden Leaf.
The foolish Boar King made a pact with the enemy lands. He was so unpleased with his limit of power, he agreed to let the farm take over part of his forest if they would restore him to his former glory. The farm, also fearing a rebellion with their own people, agreed to helping the Boar King in exchange for his lands..
One day as the King was busy vetoing suggestions to help the forest, for it struggled on and the animals of it had foolishly given him the power to veto laws, the rattlesnake that had been present at the Riverside Oath called for attention. The rattlesnake was named Maximilleon Robespierre, a name the forest would ne'er forget.
"Animalss of Golden Leaf, you have been greatly decieeved! Before you layss not a king, but a traitor!" hissed Robespierre. Shuffling through his pack for a moment, he brought out a few large leaves.
"Here, I have proof of his treassson! Grasssped in my tail are letters to the Farmer of Tall Grasssses!"
The crowd gasped in horror. They had known their king not to be the best, but to hand them over to the farm of Tall Grasses...T'was unspeakable.
"Now my fellow foressst dwellerss", he continued on, "can we let thiss continue? Nay, I sssay!"
He slithered toward the king and glared. "I ssay, we dissposse of him. Let us all here and now, vote for the king's life. If you wisssh for an equal foresst, a free foresst. If you wish for hisss tyranny to end here and now, raisse you paws and hoovesss high!"
The crowd roared and cheered.
Many hooves and paws were raised, though almost as many were not. After the paws and hooves had been counted, though it came close, it was decided the king would live no longer.
Robespierre lashed outward to the Boar King, leaving his poisonous mark upon his neck.
Within moments the Boar King was no more...
Many moons passed by. As they passed Robespierre led the forest through a cleansing...
A cleansing of traitors, of anyone still loyal to the crown. Were they found, they shared the same fate as their dead king. If they were even to have the king's seal on an item, or to speak against the new democrocy that had risen, they were to be executed...
Much innocent blood was spilt during this time, this time that was later to be called The Reign of Terror.
Fourty-thousand died during the passing moons. Mothers, fathers, children, aunts, uncles, friends...
Died for nothing...
The animals of Golden Leaf were deathly afraid. The could not speak freely, less they die as well at the fang of Robespierre.
Robespierre killed even his own friends...
One of them, before his death, spoke saying, "Robespierre will be next.."
And indeed, he was.
Eventually, the forest grew so afraid, they knew they could no longer let the rattlesnake live.
His execution was left to that of a mongoose. On that day, ending his tyranny...
Though the king be gone, though the rattlesnake be dead, the forest of Golden Leaf still had many more problems ahead.
The light they had sought at the end of their path had vanished
