Woo
Aldan stared down at the woman in pain. She knew the woman wouldn't make it through the night. The best she could do was hold the woman's hand and encourage her. Aldan knew it was completely her fault this woman was dying, but she felt no remorse.
Your suffering is bringing new life. These thoughts were all the justification Aldan needed. These birth may have appeared to be a normal and natural birth to any outsider, but the truth is it was far from normal nor natural. To understand what is meant by this, I must take you back over a century before the pregnancy began.

¥

Aldan was one of twenty members of the Faye sent to the planet earth to investigate and retrieve creatures which had crashed over a decade before the mission. The creatures had been on a ship whose mission had been to collect species from different planets for life forms from various planets to be brought back to the Faye homeworld for what amounted as a zoo.
The investigative mission had been a success and most of the creatures were returned to the ship and taken back to the homeworld. Unfortunately, only one of the original ship's crew members had survived. It had been decided that four of the investigative crew would stay behind to take care of any problems which may arise from the creatures which had been unable to be found.
Aldan had been living on earth for almost a century and thanks to the technology she had with her, she had begun to be worshiped as a goddess. Over the decades, the loneliness of being the only one of her kind in her area began to hit her. Eventually she formed a plan and decided to have a child. Since her species was unable to naturally breed with the people of earth, she would have to have a child through less than ordinary means. Given the choice of having the child herself or having one of the humans having a child for her, she chose the less invasive means for herself.
She selected ten of her followers who possessed the highest probability of compatibility. From these ten, she ran rigorous tests until she found the most suitable vessel for her future child. She chose a woman whose name she never bothered to learn and continued her plan. She extracted one of the woman's eggs and using her advanced equipped, she merged her own dna with the woman's and placed the egg back inside of the woman. And that brings us back to the previous scene of the woman giving birth.

The expectant mother's breathing became harder by the minute. She knew she wouldn't survive the birth. All she could hope for was to see the child before she died. She fought the urge to scream from pain and before long she lost. Soon every push was accompanied by a painful scream. What seemed days for the woman was only hours. Eventually it was over and a boy was born. The woman smiled and held the baby while Aldan stared in shock at the fact the baby appeared fully human. She was tempted to immediately take the baby and hold it herself, but was stopped by feeling of compassion.
Aldan left the room to allow the woman some time with the child. Soon the woman would be dead and the child would be all hers. No, not just a child but her child. She searched her mind for a name for her new son. Zane? No, that was too common. Her child, the son of a goddess would have to have a name of power. But what name? She thought further through her mind. Names of kings, emperors, scholars, and other names of men of power went through her mind. Eventually she decided one she liked the sound of enough for her child. She smiled as the name Merlin passed her lips.
Aldan repeated the name Merlin several times before hearing crying from the room. Something told her it wasn't a normal baby cry, but one of loss. She went within the room and confirmed her suspicion. She picked her son up and contemplated how to dispose of the woman's body. Normally she could just have one of her worshipers do it for her, but no one could know she was not the one to give birth to this child. With sadness at the loss of her favorite summer home, she made the decision to burn the building down. If anyone were to come across the remains and happened to find remains of the woman's body, they would most likely think the woman took refuge inside of the building and carelessly fell asleep with a fire going.
Holding the child close with one arm, Aldan began setting things on fire. She started with the woman's clothing and continued until enough of the room was on fire that there would be no chance the whole building would not burn down. Shushing the infant, she made her way outside and through the woods. Instead of heading home, she decided she would visit her sister Faye. Aldan had stored a hover vehicle close by in case of emergency. While this might not have been an actual emergency, she wanted to make her success known.
She walked them through the forest a small distance until she came upon an ominous looking cave. She entered the cave and unseen lights responded to her. The cave lit up brightly and showed what appeared to be a large moss covered boulder. She traced her finger over the surface of the rock and it revealed a small vehicle. After placing the baby gently in a seat, she set up a plasma barrier around him. She placed her finger against his lips to shush him and got inside the vehicle herself. She plotted the course to a lake which would have been more than a week's journey by foot.
Aldan watched the baby carefully as the vehicle made its journey through the woods. Within half an hour, the vehicle slowed down and then came to a stop at the shore of the lake. The vehicle opened up and its passengers were free once again. Aldan picked her precious cargo up and stepped toward the lake. As her foot almost got wet, the water began to whirl and steps began to form. She followed the steps down to a doorway and stepped in without announcing herself. Once she was safely within the space, the lake returned to normal.
Aldan looked around the brightly lit room for a moment and then made her way to a larger room where she expected the other Faye to be within. As Aldan stepped in the room, a woman in an elegant silk-like dress was seated in a chair in front of a large display which showed various areas to the woman. She did not turn from her monitors, but spoke anyway. "What brings you here, Aldan? It's been more than a decade since I last saw you."
Aldan ignored the last part and stepped closer. "I have brought something, no someone, for you to see."
The woman turned from the console to look at Aldan and surprised filled her face. "What? Why have you wasted my time bringing one of those earth children with you?"
Aldan shook her head. "He may look human, but he is my son."
The other woman's jaw dropped. "What!? You know we cannot mate with them!"
Aldan nodded. "I did not mate with anyone. This child was create in a fusion of my dna with the egg of a human woman."
The seated woman continued staring. "And what of the woman?"
Aldan shrugged and turned her attention to the child. "She did not make it."
The woman in the chair groaned. "You let a human die so that you could have a child? How could you be so selfish? We are here to protect them."
Aldan played with the child's fingers. "She knew the risk. She willingly gave herself to have my child."
The other woman groaned again. "Why must you continue to make these people believe you to be a goddess? One day they will find out the truth. What will you do then?"
Aldan remained focused on the child. "How could they possibly find out the truth? They do not even know the full extent of their own world. No, as long as they remain so ignorant, they will not find the truth. Once they are advanced enough of a species to know, I will have been long gone."
The other woman shook her head. "Still, you should be more careful."
Aldan looked up and smiled. "Of course I will be careful. I have a child to care for now. So, how are you Viviane?"
