Woo
"Arthur! You cannot do this! She is your wife!"
He shrugged. "So what if she is? This is treason. If she is allowed to get away with it, others will think they can get away with crime and then the whole kingdom will go down."
Merlin stared in shock. "But executing her? Is there no other form of punishment you could give her?"
He shook his head. "Death is the only possible action I can take. I would execute the man too if I knew who he was"
Merlin shook his head sadly. This was madness. He had to find some way to fix this problem.

¥

Merlin stepped into the main room of the underwater ship. As he did, Viviane turned toward him. "Ah, Merlin. How may I be of service to you?"
"Please, I need your help. Arthur is going to execute his wife."
She shrugged. "So your king has tired of her. What business is it of mine what he does?"
"But it is his wife! Gwenivere in no way deserves this punishment."
She blinked a moment. Gwenivere? Could this be the woman Lancelot has spoken of? "Very well, I will speak with Lancelot and see what he can do."
Merlin stared at her in confusion. "Lancelot? How do you know of him?"
She smiled a bit. "Has he not told you any of his life as a child?"
"Yes he has. He was raised on an island with only women."
She smiled more. "Did he not tell you where this island is?"
He shook his head. "No he did not."
She nodded. " I suppose that does not matter. It was on the island in this very lake."
Merlin stared in shock. "So you watched him growing up?"
She decided to keep the rest secret for now. "Yes I did. Very closely."
"You are sure he will help?"
She nodded. "Yes, I am completely sure of it. The problem will be finding our where he is."
"That will not be a problem. Arthur sent him on a mission. I can give you several places to look for him."
She nodded. "That should definitely make the search easier." My son is in love with Merlin's queen? How very interesting.

¥

Merlin refused to have anything to do with the execution itself. Arthur had threatened to exile him if he did not. But Merlin said he would go into exile on his own if he the execution was carried through. Arthur panicked and pleaded for Merlin to stay. Merlin shook his head and explained he could not serve a king who would execute his own queen. Sadly, Arthur watched Merlin walk off for what he feared would be the last time.

¥

Lancelot landed on the island of Avalon and walked to the large building. He knocked at the door and a woman in her forties opened it. "Galahad! It has been too long since you last came. Please come in." She opened the door and he went in. Immediately she hugged him. "You have come to see your mother, have you not?"
He nodded. "Yes I have. Is she where I can speak to her?"
The woman shook her head. " I am afraid not. She left a few days ago and might not be back for another week."
He sighed. Well, he had little else to do but wait.

¥

Viviane had hidden some equipment on Avalon island and was able to watch her son on the screen. Good, she had found him already. She prepared herself for the journey back to the island. She walked past a mirror and looked at her face. She could no longer remember the face she had had before becoming mother to Galahad. No, she corrected himself. He called himself Lancelot now.

¥

Viviane made her way to the island and inside the main building. She found out her son was in his old room. That made sense. The building was large enough to house at least three times as many people as there were staying in it. There would be no need for them clear his room out any time soon. This made it much easier to find him.

Viviane burst into Lancelot's room shouted. "You must return to Camelot quickly!"
He stared at her a moment in confusion. She had never acted this way before. "What need is there for me back there? I have nothing left to care about in Camelot."
She glared at him a moment. "If you do not act quickly, that will surely be so."
He blinked in confusion. "What do you mean?"
She continued her glare. "Gwenivere!"
He shrugged. "What about her? Unless Arthur has died, we cannot continue our relationship together."
She sighed. "Arthur is not the one we need to fear dying."
Lancelot perked up a little. "What? Is Gwenivere sick?"
His mother shook her head. "No, Arthur is to execute her in two days."
He stared in shock. "What!? This must be a lie. He would never dare to do such a thing."
She shook her head and looked down. "According to Merlin, Arthur has already set the plan in motion."
"Then I must save her!"
She nodded. "Yes my son. That is why I have come. But you must be extra careful. Arthur also wants to execute the man she had the affair with."
He nodded back and kissed her cheek. "I better get going. If you have any way to keep in contact with Merlin, I suggest you do."
She nodded and patted his head. "Take my boat, it is faster. Also, I have a present for you."
He hugged her. "Thank you mother."
She watched him and he left the room. This woman better be worth all this trouble.

¥

Lancelot stopped by his boat first and grabbed his armor and sword. Luckily his mother had her boat a few feet from his, making transferring the equipment easy. When he looked in his mother's boat after transferring his own equipment, he noticed two swords. He picked up the sword which his mother clearly left for him and tested it. Its balance was even better than his own and seemed to be made of a stronger and heavier metal. It was also of a different design than any sword he had seen before. It was longer than a long sword and was single bladed.
Lancelot hopped into the boat and set off toward Camelot. Luckily for him, this boat had a sail along with oars. Once the wind caught the sail, he was about to look around the boat some more. He searched and was able to find some equipment which was completely unfamiliar to him along with written instructions on how to use it.
After learning how to use the equipment, Lancelot was able to not only make his armor black, but to change its design. So this was how his mother was able to find him different colored armor so easily. He was going to have to ask her about the equipment later, if he survived.

¥

A crowd was gathering. Merlin was amazed at how many people had shown up. He did not understand the morbid fascination people had with death. He wondered how many of them were hoping that somehow the execution would be stopped and how many others were hoping it would be bloody. Merlin had continued to protest the execution, but Arthur kept on pushing that this was the only way for justice to remain in the kingdom. Merlin still hoped Lancelot would make it in time,

¥
Lancelot was on his horse and traveling toward the center of the crowd. Luckily most of the people quickly moved out of the way the moment they heard his horse. He had to make it in time. He was unsure how he was going to save her, but he would or else would die trying.
He reached where Gwenivere was. He was shocked to see her tied to a stake. Arthur could not be that much a monster. He was going to burn her alive?!? Anger filled Lancelot and he stopped his horse. Instead of using a shield and a sword like normal, he grabbed both of his swords and ran toward her. When he was halfway there, four knights stopped him. He knew these men and did not want them injured.
He stopped and held both swords in an offensive stance. "Let me through!"
The leader of the men responded. "We cannot let anyone through."
Lancelot's heart ached when he heard the voice. It was Gawain. He knew he would hate himself if he injured this man. But he knew he would be unable to live if he allowed Gwenivere to die. "All I want is the queen. Let me through or I will be forced to kill you!"
Gawain hesitated a moment, but continued. "You are outnumbered. You cannot possibly win."
Lancelot shrugged. "You know not my skill. Plus I have three advantages."
Gawain looked at the man a moment despite not being able to tell who he was. "What three advantages are those?"
Lancelot changed his pose to show he did plan to strike if needed. "One, I have this special sword." He raised the sword his mother had left for him in her boat. "Two, I have nothing to lose. And three, I am Lancelot."
The other three stepped back a moment. Gawain stayed where he was. "I care not who you are. I still am unable to let anyone through."
Lancelot sighed loudly. "Do not do this, Gawain. I do not want to kill you."
Gawain nodded. "As I do not want to kill you either. But if you insist upon this foolishness, I will have no choice but to do so."
Lancelot nodded back. "Then I wish you luck. If you do happen to win, I want you to do one thing for me."
Gawain froze for a moment. "What would that be?"
Lancelot smiled despite not being able to be seen. "Tell Gwenivere that I love her."
Gawain blinked and was unable to respond. Response was unneeded, though. Lancelot immediately rushed forward and began to attack. Gawain was able to deflect Lancelot's first attack with his shield, but the second attack sliced through his sword. Not wanting to injure the man, Lancelot pushed him into two of the other three knights. The remaining knight stepped forward and swung his sword at Lancelot. Without thinking, he blocked the attack with his normal sword and slashed at the man's chest with the other. Without meaning to, the sword sliced through the man's armor and blood dripped out. Under other circumstances he would have stopped to make sure the man was alright, but he knew this was his only chance to save Gwenivere. He ran toward her, looking back to see Gawain and one of the other knights kneeled around the fallen knight. That meant Lancelot would have to deal with the other one.
¥
Gwenivere watched him run toward her and wanted to scream his name, but she had been gagged. She mumbled and kicked, trying to free herself. She wanted to warn him of the four knights who were hiding. Suddenly that was no longer an issue. Halfway to her, Lancelot was stopped by the knights and she watched the main one speak to him. She tried chewing on her gag, but was unable to do any good. She wanted to cry out when the battle began. She cried helplessly as Lancelot risked his life for her. She she how good of a fighter he was, but she also knew he was outnumbered. She watched as he disarmed the leader and used him to knock down two of the other knights. It happened so quickly she she might have missed it if she had blinked too long. Then she watched as he sliced through the fourth knight's armor. She began crying as she realized he may have just killed one of his friends for her. The next thing she knew, Lancelot cut the rope tying her to the stake.

¥
Lancelot continued forward and used his old sword to cut the rope keeping Gwenivere on the post. He held the other sword forward in hopes to fend off the fourth knight. He dropped the other sword and picked Gwenivere up. He immediately threw her over his shoulder and ran toward his horse, keeping his bloody sword in front of him. He was surprised to have made it so far without having to fight the fourth knight. Then he made his way back to where he left his horse and stared in horror. This was why the fourth had been missing. He had made his way to Lancelot's horse and slit its throat.
Lancelot was outraged and lunged at the knight, no longer caring what he did. As he was about to run the man through with his sword, there was a bright flash between him and the man. Then a hand grabbed him and pulled him back.
He was about to strike the owner of the hand down, but was stopped by a kind voice. "Lancelot, I was afraid you would not make it in time. Hurry and take my horse."
Lancelot nodded to him. "Thank you Merlin."
Merlin nodded back and watched Lancelot run to his own horse.

¥

Once they were out of sight of the castle, Lancelot unbound Gwenivere and she cried. "Do you realize what you did?"
He nodded without looking back at her. "Yes, I most likely killed one of my fellow knights."
She nodded and wrapped her arms around him. "Arthur will not stop until he finds and executes both of us now."
He sighed loudly. "That is what I fear. I do have one place where we both may go to be safe."
She rested her head on the back of his armor. "And where is that, my love?"
He smiled despite the fact she could not see. "We will go to Avalon. Arthur would dare not attack there." At least I hope not.
