Dominic Deegan is a wonderful, wonderful thing. Since I had flip-all to do yesterday after waking up mid-afternoon (as usual) I decided to try reading it again, since I had the time to actually commit myself to it.

Barring the few hours I spent with a friend from back home sipping Mint Mudslides and chatting about back home (mostly my girlfriend, hope she didn't feel annoyed by my gushing!) I made real prgress on reading. As I write this I've just finished the episode from June 6th of this year. In such a short time I've crammed my way through around four years' worth of daily-updated comic. Yowza.

Naturally, because of the booze and computer stuff, I got no sleep last night. But it really didn't bother me for once, because of the things that were occupying my mind when it could have been dreaming about dates with manga girls, or my beloved actually wearing a skirt (long story). The thing about Dominic Deegan is, at times it can get very mushy. Some guys could argue that it detracts too much from the violence and bad puns. But for a reasonably sensitive and sentimental guy like me who hasn't seen his girlfriend in almost three months it was somewhat inspiring, and I spent the whole night just thinking about her, and how much I want to see her again. And all the hopeless romantic fodder in DD gave me ideas and revelations. I see now that it doesn't matter 'how far you get' with a girl. If you love her, all that matters is that you simply spend as much time as you can with her. To merely hold someone you care about close to you... It's a feeling that in my experience is unrivalled on any emotional level. Laura, if you're still reading this thing, my thoughts are always on the number of days left until I can feel you in my arms again. I love you.
