Banging On A Frying Pan
A random collection of whatever thoughts happen to be going through my mind at the time...
Frozen!
It was cold today. Supposedly, the temperature here in Williamsburg made it into the low 40's, but it sure felt chillier than that. Since I've worked outdoors for a long time now, I'm generally well-prepared to deal with winter; in addition to my authorized 18th-century clothes, I wear lots of layers underneath. But today, even that didn't feel like enough.

It also turned out to be a slow day; once again, there were more school groups in town than individual visitors, and school groups don't go on orientation walks. So I ended up giving only two out of the five tours I had scheduled. The rest of the time, I either logged on to Gaia from the computer at the Roscow Cole House, or stood around at the Gateway building waiting to see if someone, somewhere, might actually want a tour. And since Gateway is a former carpenters' workshed that was hastily converted into a place to begin orientation walks, it lacks central heating, so all we've got are a couple of weak baseboard heaters behind the products sales counter and two portable radiators that hardly radiate (you have to put your hands right on them to feel any heat).

When I got home, I discovered that a large stack of magazines I've been accumulating for a while collapsed, tossing issues of PC Gamer and EGM all over the dining room floor. The problem is, my mother and I are both terrible at getting rid of anything, so we end up with huge masses of stuff that we never actually use anymore, and have no space for anything else. I was too lazy to come up with a long-term solution to the magazine problem, so I just divided them into several smaller stacks. xp
