"Let me clarify this... Rahatani and Nyoko are my sisters, you are my biological mother, and you put me up for adoption because you didn't have enough money to support me?" Lee asked his "mother".

Roseline nodded as she looked at her three children, each sitting at one side of the table, Lee on the far end, Raha to her right, and Nyoko to her left.

"As I recall, you and dad soon got better jobs shortly before you found out you were pregnant with Nyoko," Raha stated.

Lee got up and walked out of the kitchen, leaving the three women in stunned silence. "Lee, wait a minute," Nyoko said as she ran in front of him to block his path.

"Why should I? I'm gone and when she can take me back, what does she do? She has YOU! She didn't even TRY to look for me...," Lee yelled at Nyoko.

Nyoko lowered her head and tears began to fall down her cheeks. "She did... she l-l-looked e-ev-everywhere for you," Nyoko started as she raised her head to reveal tears pouring down her red cheeks from her puffy red eyes. "I've wanted to meet you for so long and now I finally have my big brother after 10 years of knowing that you were out there somewhere," she finished and then ran at Lee. She wrapped her arms around his waist and cried into his shirt.

Lee wrapped his arms around her shoulder, trying to comfort her. "I'm so sorry, Nyoko, I didn't mean to snap at you." Lee whispered. Nyoko just moved her head from side to side and whispered, "It's okay."

She looked up to see Lee smiling at her and motioned for her to go back into the kitchen with him. They went back in and took their seats at the table. "I'm sorry. Please continue," Lee said.

"Well, after Nyoko was born," Roseline continued, "I looked everywhere for you. When I finally did find you, I begged your foster parents to let me take you home with me," Roseline started to say, but was stopped by the beginning of tears.

"But they refused," Lee finished for her.

She nodded and continued, "I then struck a deal with them. I'd pose myself as your aunt so that I could still be in contact with you. In fact this isn't my real hair." Roseline pulled off her wig to reveal her true hair. It was bright red, like Rahatani's, with streaks of light pink, like Nyoko's. Her hair stood out due to her dark red-violet eyes. "Lee, you look so much like your father. I only wish that he were here to see what a fine young man you've become," Roseline said as her eyes continued to moisten.

Lee got up, walked over to his mother, and held her hand. "I may look like my father, but I know that I must have your heart," Lee said comforting her.
Roseline got up out of her chair, wrapped her arms around Lee's neck, and continued to cry. Nyoko joined them as she nuzzled her face into Lee's shoulder and was shortly followed by Rahatani.

We're finally going to be the family I hoped we would become, Roseline thought to herself.

As they pulled away from each other, Lee looked at Roseline and said, "I guess I've got to call you mom now."

Roseline just smiled.
