(I know, its long over due.)

Chapter 9

The group, now including the former enemy Yue sat in Yue's room in the dark lords former castle. The room was quite, very, very quite. Finally Jensay broke the silence.

"So...What are we going to do?"

Jensay asked looking around the room at everyone. Dustin stared at the floor, Belanishi's kidnapping obviously still taking its toll on him.

"I believe-"

Yue started as Jaken interrupted him standing up suddenly.

"I'm sorry, but i don't believe anyone asked you what you believed."

Jaken said, he didn't sound angry, but at the same time did.

"Jaken calm down...he was tricked by Cheshire...."

Dustin said standing up placing his hand on Jaken's shoulder to help calm him down.

Jaken grumbled a little under his breath but reluctantly sat back down in his seat.

"... I'm sorry continue Yue..."

Dustin said sitting back down in his seat now as well as Yue nodded and continued.

"as i was saying...I believe we should back through the dark realm...not far to the east is a mountain pass that lead's to an elven city...there we can find food, lodging and some thing we will need in order to save your friend Belanishi i believe her name was...?"

Yue asked looking over at Dustin whom nodded his head indicating he was correct.

"What is thats there?"

Sheena asked tilting her head to the side slightly.

"Its a sort of 'gift' from the gods they say...its a stone, when some one holds it, it will remove all the evil with in there mind and body, if we could convince the elves to give it to us and some how make Belanishi hold it..."

Yue said his voice drifting off.

"We could save her from Cheshire's control."

Dustin finished the sentence for him, Yue nodding.

"Well what are we waiting for then!"

Henshin said standing up quickly but then quickly fell back into his seat.

"Ugh...I'm exhausted...i guess thats what were waiting for."

Henshin said and had a nervous smile play across his lips as he scratched the back of his head.

"We need to get Kalimari and Mae too!"

Jensay said as he stood up. But just as he did, Kalimari and Mae walked into the room.

"You were saying?"

Kalimari said with a wicket grin across his face, Mae standing there beside him smiling a little as well.

"But...How?"

Dustin asked looking extremely confused.

"When Lor- i mean Cheshire left, the darkness enveloping the last left with him, so it was safe enough for her to journey here."

Yue explained as Mae nodded. Kalimari looked around the room a little confused.

"Hey where's Belanishi? And whats with the gloomy look everyone?"

Dustin sighed as he called him over and began to explain everything that had happened. Kalimari and Mae both shared the gloomy look every one but Yue had now.

"...We should all rest here tonight...all the Demons are gone with Cheshire...so the area is relatively safe."

Yue told him, though Jaken didn't look to convinced.

"Relatively safe...?"

Jaken asked his eyes narrowing towards Yue.

"There is some wild life that lives here in the dark realm, though i wouldn't worry about them so long as you don't venture out side the castle alone."

Yue reasured him as he stood up and left."

"I shall go look around for your belongings that were taken from you two when you were captured."

Yue informed Jaken and Henshin as left. The group sat around quietly, each of them slightly dozing off, it was getting late out side now, not that it was possible to tell where the mood always shone here. They agreed that they would rest here for now and continue there to the elven city later once they had all gotten some rest. Dustin looked worse then all of them combined, his skin was very pale and he looked as though he would throw up any moment now, he was obviously extremely upset up about Belanishi's kidnapping. Jensay walked over and put his hand on Dustin's shoulder patting him gently.

"Don't worry man, were going to get her back, so cheer up already!"

Jensay said forcing a smile onto his face, the others did just as he did, walking over patting him on the back and smiling, Dustin could see that they were all worried too and were just trying to comfort him he smiled a little and stood up.

"Your right, i need cheer up a bit, were going to save her no matter what."

Dustin said, and repeated it mentally several times, though it didn't seem to help I'm at all, but he kept the show up just to ease everyone else's minds. Yue returned a little while later with Jaken and Henshin's weapons and the two small ouches they both carried with them. Everyone laid down in different rooms and seemed to be quitely asleep, all except Yue and Dustin who now stood in Cheshire's throne room.

"..."

Yue stood silently staring out the large window that faced over the darkness realm.

"...Yue...."

Dustin said also staring out the same window but now turned his head to look at the man who was once his enemy, and now his ally.

"...Yes...What is it...?"

Yue asked his voice dark, but not at all deep.

"..Why did you decide to come with us? You could have easily went out on your own to fight against Cheshire..."

Dustin asked, it was not that he didn't trust Yue, it was that he was curious about his reasons.

"...I know...."

Yue started but stopped, it looked as though it was difficult for him to say, what ever it was.

"...I know im not strong...strong enough to kill Cheshire on my own...But all of you....Your just mortals and yet...yet you managed to be a thorn in his side since the day you arrived here."

Yue said looking down towards the base of the castle now.

"Cheshire told me that no matter what happened he would save this world, it is that, and only that reason that i agreed to help him. I did not wish to harm anyone, but he said it was necessary in order to bring about true peace to this world, in order to save the lives of the many, by sacrificing the few...I know now that it was a lie...he was simply trying to fill my heart with hate and evil so he could control me."

Yue admitted, Dustin stepped closer to him Yue to focused on the ground now to notice. Dustin placed his hand on Yue's shoulder and he quickly looked up at Dustin in surprise.

"Its ok Yue. Killing Cheshire won't make up for the sin's you committed...but it will be a large step in the right direction..."

Dustin smiled at Yue. Yue looked surprised still, he never expected such kindness from a human, some of of the same race of which he killed hundreds if not thousands of. Dustin took his hand of Yue's shoulder and nodded his head in the direction of the doors.

"Come on.. lets go, you need some rest, you look like s**t."

Dustin said jokingly as he smiled, Yue didn't smile back by the way his tone of voice was now he seemed some what happy.

"You don't have much room to talk where you look worse then i do. filthy human..."

Yue said as he began walking.

"Dirty demon."

Dustin said and chuckled a little as they left the throne room and headed to bed.

The next morning...


Sheena was the first to wake up, she sat up off her bed and threw her legs over the side and let out a loud yawn stretching her arms into the air then forcing her right arm down to rub her eye, she looked around a little, the room was pretty bare but there was a dresser with a silver handled hair brush sitting on top. Standing up Sheena moved over to the dresser sitting down and began to gently brush her hair, it had been along time since she could take her time doing this, most of the time she simply threw it back into a pony tail to hid the knots and the mess. The next two to awaken were Lansino and Mansino, they slept in the rooms across from each other and did almost the same thing as Sheena, except when they got out of bed then left there rooms and walked down the hall to the room where they agreed that night to meet when they woke up. Jensay woke up next and left the room yawning down the hall and met up with Mansino and Lansino as they entered the room and sat down. Sheena too now left the room and moved down the hall into the meeting room. Mae woke up now and moved into the bath room rather then the meeting room to wash her self up. Dustin woke up next and proceeded to the meeting room now as well. Kalimari was still fast asleep till a loud banging sound came at his door causing him to fall out of bed having been startled so badly. Kalimari quickly got up and stommped to the door winging it open hard and instantly yelling.

"What the hell do you what!?"

Before he even realized who it was. Yue stood in the door way staring down at Kalimari with dark cold eyes sending chills down his spine.

"..Everyone else is awake....Now hurry up..."

Yue said, he sounded rather grumpy. Probably due to the fact he had not slept a wink last night, he needed little to no sleep for up to three months. But was still rather grouchy when he didn't get any. Mae was not too in the meeting room and soon Yue and Kalimari were there as well.

"Good to see everyone is well rested."

Dustin said in a slightly cheery voice, this too was just an act to make every feel he was relaxed and clam, while he was agitated and sick with worry.

"Yes...Now then...are we ready to go?"

Yue asked as every one looked around.

"What about Jaken and Henshin? Where are they?"

Mae asked, first. Dustin sighed and stood up.

"They left last night, left in my room saying they were going to head on to the elven city and get things ready for us there."

Dustin informed them, the others didn't seem to like that idea but what little choice did they have now? Jaken and Henshin were already gone. So they all got there bags together, they had stocked it with what little edible food was left in the castle and were off. The journey began slowly, everyone kept a slow steady pace, they didn't want to tire them selves out, after all it was a long walk and nearly impossible to tell what time it was in this place. After what felt like days but was just barely ridding up onto thirteen hours of walking Sheena suggested a break, no one, aside from Yue, disagreed, he argued that the line to the light realm was only a few more hours walk.

"Yue, were not demons, we don't have the kind of stamina you do."

Dustin told him and Yue sighed and gave in, they made a small fire with what little wood was laying around from the dead trees and eat a small portion of the little food they had, most of it was again bread, but there was a little meat they eat now so it didn't go bad, cheese, and some dried fruit. Once they had finished eating they sat around for about an hour and put out the fire and began there long journey again. The rest of the trip was uneventful, they had a few more breaks during there three day trip till finally they arrived at the pass that would lead them to the gates of the elven city.

"Well this is it..."

Mae told them as they spotted some one, most likely a elf, up on top of the gate wall.

"Who are you? State your business here."

The elf from on top of the wall called down to them in a booming voice. The team could hear a bit of commotion coming form up above them where the elf stood, he then turned around and was suddenly pushed aside, and in his place stood Jaken.

"Hey guys! We got everything ready for you come on in!"

Jaken called down to them, everyone face palmed and sighed as Jaken disappeared and the gates slowly crept open.

"Well...we better go inside and apologize for him..."

Dustin said shaking his head.
