The highest-income portion of the world can be divided amongst a few key groups:
-Athletes A professional football player will make an average of $1.4 million yearly- and that's just for one player, there are 53 per team, and 32 teams in the NFL alone. This equals $2,734,400,000 (two billion seven hundred thirty-four million, four hundred thousand) per season spent on players alone. There's also a $500 per season cost for each individual cheerleader, plus renovations to stadiums, coaching/staff income, uniforms, medical staff, janitors for the stadiums (and other stadium workers: concession stands, ticket-booth clerks, ect.)
-And this is just the NFL, there are numerous other football leagues and plenty of other sports as well, so this number could easily be exponentially greater.
-Singers Popular, professional singers make around $5 million per month, but I think this question is exaggerated a bit. Even so, assuming they make that in one year, times at least 600, which, considering all of the genres, is no stretch of the imagination. This equates to $3,000,000,000 (three trillion). Not much of which is going back to the public.
-Actors There is no set amount, but it can be safe to assume that good, well known actors make millions per year, so we'll round this to 1 million per year among an easy number of 75 really good actors, taking $75 million from the public.
-Politicians $162,100 x [100(Senators)+ 435(Representatives)] = $86,723,500. That's one branch of three, and prob'ly the lowest paid, considering Supreme Court Justices make 6-figure salaries and the president makes $400,000 annually. so I'd estimate that to be well over $400,000,000 collectively in politics, considering the Cabinet members, even down to the minor receptionists.
-Executives This range is so very skewed, depending on the company and their hold, but I mean the top 100 business executives, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, ect. I mean... really... that amount is bloody well staggering. I'll just jet this one to $5 trillion and be done with it, I don't have time to waste on the top 100 most wealthy CEOs in the world, but if you have a problem with my estimation send me a PM or comment with a source and I'll edit this and credit you.
-Conclusion All of these combined numbers equates to, wait for it: $11,209,400,000 per year.
This money is drained from the economy into the already wealthy person's wallet through the public buying: tickets to concerts, sports, and movies; merchandise from specific teams or bands; CDs; DVDs; and any other assortment of goods that we've been trained to purchase. What's worse is that the resources are used on nothing important. I mean really- what do they use it on? Cars, mansions, yachts, limos, hookers? Sure, they give some back to charity, but what percent does that account for? There has to be a way to counteract this, and I wish I knew of it, but unfortunately the standard "Don't buy CDs or stuff for a day!" will never work. Also, the politicians will continue to make money, because they dictate how much they make... Also, we need things to survive, which are provided by factories which have CEOs and the like... So ultimately... the lesson is to be as greedy as possible and squander your wealth on yourself? Sure.
I mean, it's not like that money could be used for anything.
