YAY! guess who was just nominated for poet of the year? yupp, me! i get to go to d.c. and read one of my poems. If I win, I get $20,000. it's august 19-21. I'm not sure if i'll be able to go..(must find a way to convince mom..)
Well, here's the poem I was nominated for and plan to enter into the contest.
Childhood Of a Hero
One heart,
one dream.
One world,
filled with magic and laughter.
One world,
filled with fighting and fear.
One girl,
sad and lonely.
One boy,
friendly and caring.
Two friends,
loyal and true.
One day,
dark and gloomy.
Two friends,
torn apart.
Two tears,
hearts broken.
One heart,
lonely again.
(I wrote this when I was feeling depressed, so it's kind of sad.)
