So, the holidays are starting to arrive. Of course they have been arriving for the past three months, but I managed to push it out of my thoughts and out of my ears for the first two. But now its the month of December, and there is no excaping Christmas now. Naturally though Chirstmas also means we get quite a few jobs flooding the Garden at once. Mostly from people who want something done, and want it done now. That usually includes one or two deaths, but we arent exactly the people to complain anymore.

Now, if you have been reading you'll know I only really write when something happens. And, well, something happened. I happened to be called out for a mission a few days ago, which is usually alright by me because it means that I get away from the Garden and other people for a little while. Except I was sent north, into the snowy areas of the world. I dont know how I get drawn into these jobs, but I somehow think Cid is doing it to toy with me. I'll get you back for this Headmaster.

Once up to my "mission area" I was told the basics of my job. More guard duty. But this time it was for something worth while! Finally! It was for a secret lab which is why I can only say it was up north from the Garden, anything more and I am sure they will try and kill me... try being the key word here. Either way, they said I needed to play guard for a new ray gun contraption they are designing and wouldnt tell me any details. Whatever, I really didnt want them.

Taking up my post as guardsman, I found the days to be rather slow. Scientists go in for long periods of time, scientists go out. Thats all that really happened for a good week I suppose. But, one day as fate would have it, a group of people managed to break into the lab and cause a lot of damage. I didnt know who they were, and I didnt care, my only concern was protecting that ray gun and the scientists like I was paid to do.

Taking my gunblade to a few of the men I managed to fight off a good deal, espically since I was the only one fighting. Scientists I found are only good for sciene stuff and running like women. Either way, thats not the point, apparently I missed one of the men while I was fighting a group of three. It was till I had pulled my blade from the last of the three that I noticed the other man, who was sitting at the controls of the ray gun. Trying to outrun a ray isnt at all easy.

The man, who I later killed but wont bother to explain here, had fired the experimental gun at me, at nearly point blank range! Sufficed to say it didnt kill me, though at seeing what happened, I wish it had. After the pain had left my body and the headache went away, I could finally see enough to notice the man had left, and the scientists were gathered around me.

When I got up in a very shaky fashion, I tried putting a hand to my head, only to find my hand wasnt exactly a hand anymore... it had changed into a mix of hoof and fingers. When I had gotten done threatening a scientist with death, they finally brought me a mirror. The horror I saw reflected at me didnt seem real. It was as if I had been fused with a deer! Hooves for feet, brown fur in selected places, even antlers adorned my head. It was like a nightmare.

I had stayed with the scientist after I calmed down and tracked that man down to kill him, but I only stayed so they could find a cure. But since it was experimental when fired, they dont exactly know what is wrong. For now I have returned to the Garden to rest and go into hiding where I can be safe. Untill they find a cure it looks like I will remain half human half deer for a long while yet.

Let me tell you though, its hard to type with hoof like fingers. I cant even hold my gunblade properly anymore. This is the only reason I have gone into hiding. I have also heard that Headmaster Cid is absolutly furious with the Secret lab for this, maybe I wont be so hard on the Headmaster anymore if he can move along their research.
