Chapter 10
Justice was going to confront Mercy. "She will die." Justice said to himself, repeating it over and over again in his head. He sensed her from a distance. "There." He said to himself, moving faster and faster. He appeared near her in a flash. Mercy swung wildly, sensing that he was there. She missed due to Justice quickly moving out of the way. "What do you want?!?" Mercy asked angrily. Surprisingly enough, she was alone. "I'm here to kill you." Justice said. Mercy began to laugh. "You, kill me? Not gonna happen." She said, pulling out her blade. Justice was in front of her in a flash. He looked her straight in the eyes, but she pulled away quickly. Justice had trapped her, though. She was under his spell. He stood still as she swung her blade at him, cutting him to pieces. She looked in amazement as a pool of blood formed, staring in disbelief. "Justice is dead!" She cried triumphantly. She tried to jump away, but realized she couldn't move! "What?" She asked, standing perfectly still. The blood began to form into Justice. "Impossible!" Mercy cried, still in control of her mouth. In the blink of an eye, ten clones surrounded Mercy, all of them looking exactly like Justice. They all turned into a spiked wall, closing in on Mercy from all angles. She looked horrified as the walls clamped shut. Justice broke the trance and Mercy clutched her head, screaming out in pain. The call fell on death ears. She stood up right and managed to grab her blade, ignoring the searing pain in her mind. "You see, Mercy, I have become stronger. I have defeated a legend." Justice said, throwing his blade down. His left arm was set ablaze with golden energy that looked like a blade. Mercy laughed. "As if I'm going to believe that!" She said, covering her blade in red energy.
Elsewhere, Solomon was moving around. He had survived on his own throughout the years and had a strong urge to find Justice thanks to The Creator. Neo and Yumi had also received this feeling and were headed in the same direction. Surprisingly enough, their appearances had not changed over the last millennium. As they traveled, they converged on a single point in the field. They looked at each other. Yumi then ran up and hugged Solomon. "It's been such a long time!" She cried, setting aside her natural shyness. Neo glared at the two. "I thought I was rid of you both 1000 years ago. But I see now that we've had the unfortunate luck of meeting each other again." He said. Solomon sighed. "You haven't changed." He said, hugging Yumi back. "So why did you two... oh, you must've gotten called by The Creator to come find the one named Justice as well." He continued. Yumi nodded furiously, but Neo did not respond. "Let's go find him then. Apparently he's stronger than all of us." Solomon said. Neo looked shocked for a split second before shaking it off. "Now, SYN, let's go!" Solomon commanded, taking off. Yumi followed without hesitation, but Neo waited a few seconds before flying after them. They quickly arrived near Justice, who was battling with Mercy still.
Strike that. It was hardly a battle at this point. Justice was toying with Mercy, who had been trying to land a blow on him for quite some time. He still was using his blade of golden energy, slicing Mercy's clothes and hair with extreme precision. SYN watched as The Dark One popped up from behind them. "You're the little rats I sensed. How pathetic." She said, binding the three in darkness. They tried to break out, but the darkness had bound each of them, making their powers useless. The Dark One walked over to Justice's and Mercy's battle and sat down. Justice glared at her as he stabbed Mercy through the chest. "You're next." He said. The Dark One smiled. "I don't think so. Oh, and by the way, your teammate Otaku made a wondrous meal." She said. Justice looked shocked. Where had she learned to absorb others? Mercy saw this as an opportunity and used a red snake to wrap around Justice, who cut it through with superior power. He sliced her stomach down the middle. "It's over." He said, turning around. Mercy's stomach began to spill her insides as she watched. The Dark One got up and placed her hands on Mercy's shoulders. "Don't worry. You'll be with me all the time now." She said, using the shadows to absorb Mercy. Justice turned and tried to attack. She jumped away and laughed. "I'm giving you 100 years to build up your skills." She said, disappearing into darkness. Justice sighed. 100 years? That was quite some time. He walked over to the others, who were not bound by darkness any longer. He held his still golden energy blade to Solomon's neck. "Who are you?" He asked, glaring at the other two. "We're SYN." Neo responded, extending his blade and holding it to Justice's neck. "And you must be the almighty Justice." Solomon said, not phased by the blade. Justice's blade dispersed and Neo retracted his. "We're here to become your teammates." Yumi said with a large hint of shyness.
Hope was wandering the halls of the castle, not sure of what to do. Sasuke and Zero were alone, doing The Creator knows what, and Hope was bored. She saw something move in the shadows. "Hello?" She called nervously. As she was about to call again, Nero covered her mouth with his hand from behind. She let out a few muffled screams and grew thorns from her back, landing inches from Neo's stomach. "Listen, girl. You tell Zero that I'll come for him in 100 years. You got that?" He asked. Hope responded by spitting several razor sharp leaves into Neo's hand and turning around as he let go in pain. She hit him with thorns and he wheeled back, not sure of how to respond. "What do I do now? It's not like I can just kill her!" He said to himself. Hope had already made several more roses from her skin and was aiming to hit Neo with them. He looked a little irritated and vanished into the shadows. Hope dropped the flowers and ran off, running to tell Zero about what had just happened. She concentrated really hard and sensed him on the room. She ran up to him as fast as she could, stumbling along the way. She burst through the door to the roof and saw Zero and Sasuke doing... things. The two broke apart and faced Hope. She was panting. "What's wrong?" Zero asked, clearly concerned. "Zero... there was a man... who said... he'd come for you... 100 years from now..." Hope managed to say. Princess Sasuke looked concerned as well. "What are you going to do?" She asked Zero. "I'm going to train for the next century." He replied bluntly.
The Creator and Legend were sitting on a field, talking with one another. "I'm probably going to take off soon." Legend said. The Creator didn't show any emotion. "Probably be best for you. But where will you go?" He asked. Legend sighed. "I don't know. Somewhere where I can battle, though I might try and see if I can find any of our old, old teammates." Legend said. The Creator looked up into the sky. "It's been a long time since all of us fought together. I'm sure most of them are still living. After all, it's not easy to kill a Legend." He said. "You thinking about making that city in the sky still?" Legend asked. The Creator nodded. "I'm going to make a brilliant city." He assured himself. Legend smirked. "How long will it take?" "Thirty years, at least. Oh, and there will be 100 years of peace for now. The evil ones are doing something that I'm not sure of right now. Justice has one heck of a battle ahead of him. But he's got SYN with him now." The Creator explained. Legend stood up. "It was good seeing you for this short time. You can assure yourself that I will bring back a couple of team members." He said. The Creator stood up as well. "You better." He said, watching Legend as he took off into the endless green field. "Now, let's get started on this town..." He said to himself, taking off as well.
