Chapter 4: Journey
Sen and Miu had finally recovered from their battle with Cri. "He was strong... stronger than you!" Miu pointed out. Sen sighed. "I realize that. But who is this person that tried to help us?" He asked, pointing to Revl who was still recovering what whatever type of wound he had received from Cri's blade. Miu finally noticed him and rushed over to him and squatted down next to him, putting her hands around his shoulders. "Are you okay?" She cooed, trying to look Revl in the eyes. He brushed her off and stood up. "Of course I am." He said a bit arrogantly. "Miu looked a tiny bit offended as he stood up. She stood back up as well and crossed her arms. Sen walked over to Revl and extended his hand. "My name is Sen." He said, waiting for a reply. Revl shook his hand. "And my name is Revl." He replied, breaking the handshake after. "So, Sen, you are the chosen one, am I correct?" Revl continued. Sen had a look of shock on his face. "How did you know that?" He asked with a curious tone. "Word of your birth spread far and wide. Of course, it had not been revealed that you were the one to end the war that had just starting, but the spread of one person's birth as far as it went through Z3R0 was unusual, by any means..." Revl explained. Sen looked amazed. "Would you like to join Miu and I on our quest for the rings?" He asked. "I don't know if I should. I'm a killer." Revl explained. "It doesn't matter. What you did for us was good enough to convince me that you were a good person." Sen said, smiling. "I'll consider it..." Revl muttered.
The Creator had stayed silent for quite a while. He was alone, thinking and watching from Phly, The City in the Sky, the first and only city in the sky of Z3R0. It was inhabited by winged beings of the highest order due to its barrier and secrecy. It held the Ring of Divinity, one of the rings that Sen needed to end the war. "I wonder how the boy will get up here? He is an angel I suppose... but..." Near thought to himself, his eyes closed. None of the angels, demons, or crossbreeds looked or gave Near much mind. Phly was a peaceful city, separated from the war and the three sides. The beings in the city were of too high nature and class to attack anyone in a city full of peace. But the city was guarded by large guns, magi, and extreme amounts of energy covered the city, amounts that would crush anyone in the city who was too weak. Near stood up and began to make his way through the city, completely off guard and carefree. All types of races were hovering around him, Near being the only one in the city that didn't fly. There was one machine that transported a select few up and down between the city and Z3R0, but it was rarely used. Near turned his back to the edge of the city. It was rather small, about a half a mile wide all around. Yet there were some houses there, with beings who lived there to avoid the war. This place was a sanctuary, and Near sighed. He had to go back down to the ground. He stepped off the edge and fell down.
Maybe it's time to look for the rings... at least, that's what a voice in Sen's head was telling him. No... we can't just yet. Sen thought again. His mutation was beginning to control his thoughts. "Now, let's get back to what we were talking about before we were so rudely interrupted." Miu began, starting all of a sudden. "You're going to keep your promise and marry me, right, Senny?" She cooed, trying to pull off the best innocent look she could. Senny, er, Sen, was a bit angered again. "Of course not. This isn't the time for things like that. And I only promised you that because I thought you were cute as a little kid. I didn't think you would've held onto that promise for this long." He said. Revl had stayed silent the entire time, not wanting to get involved in what he thought to be a trivial matter. Miu, on the other hand, looked as though she were about to cry again. "You promised!" She whined, sniffling a little. "Maybe something will happen if you change your attitude." Sen replied. "I think we should start our journey now." He added, walking away. Revl followed him, not looking back at Miu, who soon followed reluctantly.
----------------------------------------------------
The three had been walking for several days, stopping at several towns to rest. They had made little progress, if any at all. As they walked along the endless field, Miu began to whine again. "Senny, where are we going?" She asked, crossing her arms. "You're such a child. How old are you?" Sen asked, not turning around. "17..." Miu muttered. "But I was asking the questions!" She added. "We're trying to find the temple that holds the Ring of Chaos." Sen answered. "Do you have the slightest clue where that is?" Miu asked, pouting a little bit. "Nope. It's hidden, you silly little girl." Sen muttered. Revl had been trying to scan the area, searching for anything that could harm them.
After several further days of walking, Revl had finally picked up something. "This energy... seems strange." He said. He was not very good at sensing others' energy, so the person must've been very close. "I sense it too, now that you mention it..." Sen muttered, turning into his mutated angel form. Suddenly, a sphere of lightning whizzed out of the sky and clipped Sen's ear, sending one hundred volts of electricity coarsing through him. He looked paralyzed for a second before drawing his dual blades. Another sphere, this time made of fire, headed towards him. He held up the blade Cri had given him, which, now that he inspected it, had the word "Ico" inscribed on it. Sen knew that the most probable thing that would happen would be the sphere passing through the blade, but he held it up. It suddenly began to glow. The sphere hit the blade and split in two, causing it to pass by Sen harmlessly. He looked dumbfounded as the blade returned to its original form. "Did the blade do that?" He asked. Miu and Revl were now on the defensive. "I don't know, but the more important question is who shot those two elemental spheres?" Revl said, trying to sense someone's energy. But he couldn't! "It's like it disappeared..." He said as a small girl with a gigantic staff the size of her body stepped out from behind a nearby hill. "I've come to kill Sen!" Let me do it!" She commanded with a shy voice. Revl and Miu stepped back, a little relieved. Sen stood up to the front of the girl, who was about 5 feet tall, had long, blonde, hair, brown eyes, and had a light green robe on. The staff was finely made, eminating magical power. "Come." Sen told her, ready to fight.
"And just who do you think you are, little one?" Sen asked while the girl was preparing an attack. "This isn't the time to talk!" The girl said, her bangs covering her eyes. She shot a sphere of ice at Sen, who tried to cut it in half again with "Ico." The blade simply passed through it this time, though. It hit Sen in the face. He steadied himself and stood back upright. Revl and Miu watched in vague interest. Sen began to fly at the girl at about half his full speed. The girl ducked as Sen flew over her. He hardly tried to attack. He used the distraction to inspect his other blade. It had the word Aetas written on it. "I hadn't noticed that before... has that always been there?" He thought to himself as he flew through the air. The girl had gotten up and had shot another sphere at Sen, this one made of the earth. Sen turned around at the last second, his blade glowing without his knowledge. He put his arms up to block, but after a few seconds he hadn't been hit. "Uh... what?" Sen muttered, putting his arms down. The sphere had stopped in the middle of the sky! Everything around him was frozen in time. Sen landed on the ground. He looked around as time started up again. Revl, Miu, and the girl had looks of surprise on their faces. "How'd you get there?" The girl asked, amazed. "Did Aetas do this?" Sen asked himself. The girl got mad suddenly and began to prepare another sphere. Lightning began to form on the tip of her staff. Sen finally shook off his surprise, feeling drained. "Dammit... these two techniques or whatever really sapped my energy..." He said, watching the ball of lightning form. "Ah well." He said, ready to fight again.
----------------------------------------------------
There was blood all over the room. A lone figure stood in a doorway, covered in blood as well. The ones who had been slain were the leaders of The Second. One of them was still alive, but just barely. "Oh dear... did I not kill all of you the first time?" The figure in the doorway asked, looking down at was the leader who was in extreme shock. "How could you?" He asked, very weakly. "I wanted to be a leader but you wouldn't let me." The person said, pulling out a blade and walking towards the survivor. He or she was kept under the cover of darkness as they sliced the sole survivor one last time. With his last breaths, the leader cursed the figure. "Jewel... damn you..." He said as he died. Jewel made her way to the door and light hit her blood-stained face and hair. "Oh no... what a mess I've made." She said calmly, an odd look on her face.

Simon sighed. "The battle we fought those days ago didn't help us at all!" He shouted with a bit of anger to the other sceni. "Of course not. We were going up against both The First and The Second's armies. What did you hope to accomplish with that?" One of the sceni said. Simon was looking out of the building they were in. "We had no choice but to attack. Our own kind were getting destroyed. We can't let that happen." Simon said calmly, his back to the others. A voice suddenly filled the room, not to the surprise of anyone in there. "Simon, the leader of The First wants to talk to you." It said. Simon growled a bit. "What does that loathsome little dog want..." He asked himself. "Where is he?" Simon asked. "Journey's End." The voice answered quickly. "Good." Simon muttered. "That's close to here." "He also said to not bring any forces and to come alone." The voice added. Simon walked out of the portal with anxiety and left the town.
He made it to Journey's End in a matter of hours. Uni was standing in front of the waterfall which ran to beneath the ground, supported by gigantic cliffs. It was open, surrounded by only a few trees. Simon walked up to Uni, who was facing the waterfall. "What do you want?" Simon asked. "I want you to join forces with The First." Uni said. Simon nearly laughed. "Are you serious? Why would I do that?" He asked. Uni remained calm as he answered. "Because if we join forces The Second will fall." He said. Simon thought for a second. "Yes, but what is the gain for all of this?" He asked. "The chance to make Z3R0 free of rule from The Justicians." Uni answered. "I don't see why I should." Simon replied stubbornly. "I've heard on very good ears that Jewel murdered her superiors with ease, making herself the sole leader of The Second. She has been hiding an enormous power and neither of us will beat her alone." Uni said, putting his hand out and letting the water run down it. Simon sighed. "Hasn't The Chosen awoken yet?" He asked. Uni smiled. "Of course he has." He answered. Before Simon could reply Uni continued. "If he ends the war, though, hundreds upon thousands of lives will be lost." He said. "So you want to end the war before that happens, huh?" Simon deduced. "The cleanest way possible." Uni assured him. "Sorry, but if we mess with the 'prophecy' The Creator might get angry." Simon said, walking away. "You're making a mistake!" Uni called before going another way, summoning a large dog to ride on. "I bet I am..." Simon thought to himself, sighing.
----------------------------------------------------
The Creator was now sitting in the endless green field, thinking and watching. "Those two want to end the war, do they?" He asked himself, smirking lightly. "I can't let them do that. I really can't believe this war even started... Was everyone really so blind? Or was my illusion just so perfect?" He asked, still thinking to himself. "I guess it'll soon be time to surprise and shock everyone in the war zone." He added, looking up into the clouds. "And I know a few people who would definitely bring some shock and surprise."
