Role Play and God Mode-ing, and Definitions

Specifically Internet Role Playing NOTHING TO DO WITH D&D or dice based RP's (RP/Rping short for Role Playing)
(God Mode-ing not mod)
(Para-rp paragraph style rping)
(One-Liners one line style of role playing)
(ToS Stands for Terms of Service)

Remember we were all the new person once, be nice to the new people, or they'll report you and eventually get you banned. Then you loose all your gold and items. Not a warning, this is what happens when the new people learn how to report mean users.


God-Moding.
As in you are invincible or changing your character from the original characteristics and traits.

FIRST
THE MOST NOTICABLE EXAMPLES
Main Example: I've already set up my character's specifics, traits, powers weapons and all that. I cannot out of the blue just give my character some new power from nowhere. UNLESS another character bestows or forces this upon me via spell or whatnot within the current RP.

SECOND
NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE says you cannot magically, physically or otherwise dodge a missle type weapon/shot. A Missle type weapon or shot is an arrow or ray gun shot or and actual missle. Even if you have teleportation powers the time it takes to cast this spell or incantation will still get you shot and killed or wounded if you have armor.

THIRD
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL things holy! Don't drag your death out until someone takes pity on you and revives/saves/ressurects you. ITs rude and just plain annoying. Die with honor or I'll come shoot your character in the head no way of reviving. (Brains are damaged, and if you do come back its as a powerless mindless zombie wether you have healing or regenerating powers or not. Once the brain is damaged you're done.)
And don't whip out some NPC player to come along either unfair.

FOURTH
Trolling, Spamming, BUMPING, unacceptable advertizing all that DON'T do it! If you ABSOLUTELY have to go do it in the proper and designated areas!
Trolling, purposely taking away from the topic of the thread when the subject your posting about has nothing to do with the thread subject
On a side note if you don't REALLY have to say what you want to post then don't. Think for a minute, do you have to post it? It is absolutely necessary? Will it further more bad-vibes? Or is it better to Lurk. If its not beneficial to the thread then don't post.
Spamming We all know this one, general crap thats unrelated to the thread, or advertising/soliciting something that can be posted elsewhere.
BUMPing Which stands for Bring Up My Post. Originally used to bring attention to the thread and place it at the top of the newley posted to list in the forums such as chatterbox or other areas. VERY annoying and not needed in guilds. Really not needed in guilds.
Unauthorized Advertizement Pretty much pandering anything that breaks the ToS and/or the guild rules which often leads to an instant ban in most areas. Again if you have to post about whatever you want to advertize or solicit about do it in the designated areas PLEASE! (IE the chatterbox or guild section/subthread)
Haters/Flamers/Narcs/Hate-mongers/And general stupidity Look, everyone disagrees or dislikes (or greatly dislikes, I don't hate, hate is to care enough about something to hate it. Thats wasting my time in my opinion) what other people are, or do or believe in. If you feel that you have to post such hateful things instead of peacefully stating your opinion then you're not welcome here in my opinion.
There is NOTHING wrong with a friendly debate or sharing or opinions THERE is something wrong with cursing and being ignorant (not wanting to learn) and bigoted and racist.
There are many topics that start this and I'm not going to list them because such comments aren't welcome here.
If you must post your disdain do it in your own home. The ToS states such intolerance is not welcome!

Now on the love hate issue. The opposite of love is not hate its apathy! WHY? Because love is caring about someone for so many reasons. Apathy is not caring at all. Hate is caring enough about something or someone to hate or be angry at or with that thing or person. So if for example I hated (whatever topic or person) I'm caring enough to show my hate and anger (or worse) to this topic etc. So yeah thats not un-loving thats still caring to an extent to spend such energy and comsuming time to be hateful instead of apathetic.

ONE LAST THING!

Play fair
Not doing so gets you reported, warned or in the worst case Banned from the server by your name or IP number (IP number being the number of your computer correct me if i'm wrong here. Which means getting a new internet device OR new computer, very costly)

If you don't like how the story is going either start over, go back to a point in time OR if its a short post act like it didn't happen AND SAY SO. Or better yet work it out with the other person, COMMUNICATION isn't going to kill you!
(example Lexia walks up to the bar and orders ale. *bartender doesn't like this please repost differently* Lexia walks up to the bar, greets the barkeep and requests ale.
OR Lexia walks past the door way to find a chair and take a seat.)

IF I've missed anything let me know. If you have the need to post a hateful snarky or otherwise sour mood comment please don't. This is meant to inform not be hateful. Please don't take it that way.

How do I know these general rules of RP? Because I was a newb/nOOb once and We all were at one time, BE NICE to the new people for they can complain to the creators and get us all in trouble. That and I've seen SO MANY PEOPLE play unfairly that it just turns me off of RP for so long I don't want to play for a while.

ALSO don't cyber in the main areas if you don't want to be banned or have others join. COMMON SENSE is key and not just with cyber. Common sense and courtesy PLEASE

NO One-liners which is a one line post or barely even a sentence. I crave descrptions please!

You don't have to para-rp either, Paragraph post which is an entire paragraph of response. TO me a paragraph is 5 to 12 sentences per paragraph. at least three sentences for the love of god!

MOST importantly if someone is being a nuisansse or breaking the rules DON'T try and handle it yourself this is what the Crew and Captains are for, tell them, let them deal with it and go on about your business! Trying to handle it yourself can get you in trouble or worse banned because you lost your temper.
