Contemplations of a knight
So often lost in quiet contemplations, viewing the world through wolven eyes... This is stuff. Just stuff. Stuff fueled by video games, boerdom and hotdogs. Its my personal fanfic/drawing/poetry log now. Like what you see? Leave a comment!~ :3
Fading memory
"I am nobody."
"I am nothing."

She stood, alone there, storm grey eyes scanning the horizon, overlooking the sea. A ragged shawl was draped over her shoulders, toyed with in the sea breeze. She wore the guise of a man; leather armor under a loose green tunic, tanned leggings, steel boots that only a knight should wear. All were as worn as the shawl, though not as tattered. A tingling had spread throughout her body, a tingling that told her it was time to go. Her grip tightened on the worn, beloved spear in her hand. She was afraid.

"Relinquish your identity."
"You are nobody. You are nothing. You no longer... belong."

Her face was slender, framed by soft, raven curls. Teeth sunk into her lower lip as she stared away. She idly brushed a lock of golden hair from her eyes, tucking it into place behind her ear, where it only slipped out again, toyed with by the wind. The golden clump of hair, the only symbol of her now doomed legacy.
Face to the sea, she turned away from the sight, dying sunlight over endless waters. She looked back, back the way she had come. Back at the city in the fading sunlight.
She turned toward the sea once more, fighting the tears, fighting the pain in her heart.

"It is because... I no longer have you."

Who are you? What have you become?

She looked down at the cliff she stood upon.
"I am nothing. I am nobody." She whispered. "No..."

"I am Indigo. I am the waifling. I was found in the heat of battle, taken in by one with much mercy in his heart." She sighed. "I am Indigo, the sigh of a Requiem. I was taken in by a tender heart, guided by a noble blade." She raised her spear, tears welling in her eyes.

"I am Indigo! Child of the Basilian knights! I was given life when there was only death, given freedom when there was only enslavement! I am a knight!!"

She pointed the weapon to the sun, shouting her words out over the oceans.

"I am Indigo!!! Named by the one man I shall forever love! Named by a comrade, a son, a friend, a brother!" Tears coarsed openly down her face. "I am Indigo! Child of the Slamberts! I am Indigo, who will always be and always shall be, a memory unforgotten."

She tilted her head back.

"I am Indigo Slambert! I shall forever be a warrior, forever be a knight. I shall forever be yours!"

She stayed silent, glaring defiantly over the water. It was a long time before she lowered the blade and sat on the cliffop, panting slightly from her outburst.

"My name is Indigo." she whispered. "I was once nothing. I have been raised, redrawn, reborn. And I have you to thank." She smiled, ignorant of the tears that flowed freely.

"I am who I am because of you."

She rose to her feet.
"I am here, living, breathing... only for you. For your mercy. For your kindness."

She was silent, facing the sea once more, spear in hand. She ran her fingers lovingly over the well worn wood.
"I thank you."

"I thank you, and I remember you. You alone, you, whose memory shall never fade from this heart, or form the hearts of your friends." Eyes shining, she watched the sun sink below the horizon. "I thank you... for your love. For your warmth. For your heart. In my heart, in the hearts of all of us who love you... you shall never die. To us, you are eternal.

My beloved knight... I bid you farewell, my brother, my Lavitz."

She turned, gazing one last time at the city, a soft smile spreading across her face. There was no place for her there. Not now. There never truly had been. She had always always belonged at his side. And now, a plane separated them. And until she found him once again, she would never have a place. Nothing could settle her restless heart except his presence.

He had that effect on people.
But then again, great men often do.

She stood alone on that clifftop, watching the day fade. She stood on her own as the moon that never sets glowed in the sky. And it was alone that she saw the stars slowly come out of hiding. She smiled.
"Farewell, good city."
She raised both spear and hand in salute.

Forevermore I have become a drifter and a wanderer. And still my soul remains restless.
But I can never rest. Not until I can see his smile. Not until I can hear his laugh.
To this day I shall remain a wanderer. I cannot return.
But one day. Just one day. The path of destiny will cross us again.

... one day. We shall be reunited, you and I.
