Taking Leave
After Lily spoke with Se'rox, she nodded. Lily stood, and walked back into the house.
Se'rox watched her go, and shook her head. This was illogical.
"But why not?" Se'rox called after her.
Lily stopped, but did not turn around. "Because what I should do, is destroy you. Destroy you, and put her back together completely. But... but I can't do that. Even if it fixed her- which I'm not sure of- your life would be forfeit. And... and I can not bring myself to make that choice, not even on my daughter's life." she sighed. She had just explained most of everything, but she had to go further. "But my husband, Rose's father, can. He is... part demon. That lineage is known for its dark tendencies. He will come to find out about this- I can not hide it from him! And when he does, he might seek you out, if he knew you were close, just for the chance to ensure Rose would be safe and sound, for the rest of her life. There would be no convincing him of the possibility that your life lost might not help hers. Thus, you must go. Go, and never return."
As Lily finished, she straightened, visibly pulling her strength, and she started towards the house again. Once inside, she used magic to close and lock the door. She stopped by a panel, and issued commands to ANTIE-D, priority, and private. ANTIE-D was not to allow Se'rox into the house or onto the grounds unless Rose's father was... dead. Or he would kill Se'rox, definately.
Outside, Se'rox knew what Lily had to be doing. And she understood more, now. That feeling that Rose's parents had for her, that was love. One of the "emotions" that Lily had told her all about. And people would do anything to protect it, even cross moral boundaries. Se'rox was unsure if Lily would continue to protect Se'rox's own life if she were to remain near. Or on this planet at all.
Se'rox turned and left the property- not heading toward the forest at all. She headed away, past houses, into and a through a town, and kept going. She vowed never to return to Rose's house, as long as her parents lived.
The next logical step, then, was to learn, and to use her powers. Those she knew about, and those that Lily told her she should be able to command in time. But she had to leave Gaia to do it. Lily had said there were many, many worlds out there. And Se'rox was going to build up her powers, so that she could jump to one.
