“I’m letting you. I don’t want to force you.” Nikki scowled.
He sighed, kissing her hard.
She began to pull his shirt off before he grabbed her wrists, halting her.
“Nik, dear, not now.” Phoenix declared tiredly against her mouth.
“Now’ll be better than later. We could be dead by later.” Nikki snapped, glaring up at his silver eyes.
“Not if I can protect you,” he replied sternly, silencing her momentarily before she jerked her wrists free, her arms flying around his neck.
“Nikki... damnit.” He pinned her to the ground, her wrists held tightly in his hands.
“Phoenix, I want you. So bad. And if we don’t do this now, we may never get another...”
“I want you, too, dear. So badly it hurts. But I can wait. Will you wait if I ask you to? Please?” Phoenix interrupted, looking back at her angered blue eyes.
