The days become months in the forest hills
and a time of peace had set in
as far as the towns go, twas only the normal disappearances
No one has any clue where the CDC's been
Everything had been way too mellow in the house. There had been very few confrontations, both between them and outside forces, but none that would be considered too important, or 'epic' sort of speak. Tina still tended to her home and visited several friends around the country side. Zapook balanced her hours between her 'transformation' studies and her job at a town's graveyard. Zee was still a lazy, man-eating trouble maker, though with the little activity, it's been said that she's been putting on weight. The smaller members of the house had still remained the same. Mikey had been visiting on and off after finding out that human girl he made friends with was actually Zee. Professor Meteor had been back as well, visiting and helping Zapook with her studies and further understand the genetics side of science. Onima had still not been found. The others claim she is deceased, and only Zee believes she is still alive out there somehow. The holidays that had passed were spent as if they were a normal family. The spirit like foxes that swarmed the front of Tina's home still wandered there, and better yet, Tina finally overcame her fear of them. And now...we come to the inevitable yelling.
"BORED!!! SO BORED!!"
See? As stated. Only this time...the screams are coming from Tina...
"Even I am a little antsy with the silence here!" She yells, sitting at the kitchen table with a glass of milk.
Zapook was leaning against a counter, looking over some written notes and files, and sighed as she responded to Tina's griping. "Every time you guys yell about it being boring around here, something happens, and we're up to our necks in trouble again. You two should enjoy the peace. It's the longest we've had in a while."
"That may be true. I am not asking for troubled times to find us once more...I just yearn for a bit more excitement."
"And then someone busts down our door demanding another bounty."
Just as Zapook spoke those words, there was a knock at the front door. Zapook only rolled her eyes in that 'I told you so' manner, and turned away from Tina, going back to her notes.
Reluctantly, Tina rose to her feet and went into the front room, opening the door cautiously and peeking out.
On there door step, an extremely large Easter egg sat, painted in vibrant orange, yellow, and purplish colors. It stood at a height that barely exceeded Tina's. As she stared at the egg with her mouth gaping open, it shook slightly, making Tina jump back and scream for her sister, and her sister's counter part. Zapook ran from the kitchen with all concern, and Zee, who had been in the balcony, dropped from the roof of the house and stared at the egg curiously. The three of them began to poke and prod, and examine it until it's trembling become so violent, it force Zee to put herself between the egg, and Zapook and Tina, as if protecting them. The egg began to crack...
and there came a sound...
A cheerful sound that was low at first, and slowly grew to where it over took Zee's growling and Tina's whimpering...
The shell had split horizontally, before laying still, waiting for the three of them to lean in close once more...
and as they did...
The top half shot off like a rocket into the sky, and Onima's was left standing in the bottom half, arms wide open as she yelled, "Surprise!!! Happy Easter!"
