A Short Biography: Catherine is a master of the summoning arts, able to will any creature she wishes into existence to fight for her. Or rather, that's what she likes to think. She's good at what she does, but she isn't exceptionally accomplished at it.
She tends to hire herself out as magical muscle, ready to unleash an arcane assault on whoever the hell her client needs her to. Her familiar, an extra-dimensional serpent-like creature she calls Sofiya, can cripple a full-grown man with its paralytic venom in less than a minute, and can also increase dramatically in size in order to intimidate or constrict someone. The numerous intricate tattoos over Catherine's body (usually hidden by her clothes) allows her to retain more control over this creature than other summons (and contain wards that prevent Sofiya from turning on her), as well as enhance her overall magical power. Along with her summoning abilities, Catherine can conjure and manipulate fire and darkness.
Catherine is disdainful of people, often looking down her nose at the fools she feels she is surrounded by. As far as anyone can tell, there isn't a single creature in existence besides Sofiya that she bears some semblance of a positive emotion for. She gets frustrated easily, and always blames other people when things go wrong, even if it was her fault. However, all this masks a crippling inferiority complex that Catherine spends all of her willpower pretending doesn't exist. Her older brother is a successful doctor, and her older sister is a celebrated adventurer. Catherine, however, feels she hasn't accomplished anything worthwhile in her life (though you'd have a hell of a time trying to get her to admit to that).
She values power and the freedom to do what she wishes.
