Just a day ago, Koopa had finally gotten control of the wolf features she gained from Lex's attack, which had slowly tried to reappear and replace the cat ones. She knew the others were would just run again since that first chase took place.
None of them have heard from Lex for a few days now, and Forby's been on Koopa's mind more than ever. Her thoughts and day dreams were interupted by a
series of mews coming from a very ticked off Koopling. They both meowed at each other back and forth which would seem like a bunch of noise more than a conversation to any non-feline creature.
"You know...It's nice you're willing to take people in, but we're running out of room in this house. How long is that lizard cat staying here!?"
"First of all, she's a dragon, not a lizard. Second, her name is Shalimar. Third, she's stayin with us until either Chazu comes around, or until her mother stops actin like a fricken psycho. Which ever one comes first."
"What about your condition? You can't have her around right now!"
"Look, fuzzball, I got this. Aight? Do you see wolf fur on me? No!"
"Fine, what ever. Koopling hops onto the bed and sits next to Koopa. What if it does come back?"
"I'm sure you, Aussa, and Tina can bring me down. Where's Tina anyway?"
"At that tree."
She sighs and lays back on her bed. "Of course...and Shal?"
"In Aussa's bed watching Aussa play games."
"At least she's restin..." Koopa gets's up with a small grunt and slips on her jacket as she heads toward the door.
"Where are you going?"
"To find Tina. I wanna make sure that gem is safe."
Koopling's voice become low and safe which made Koopa pause when she said, "Koopa? What has happened to Chazu?"
Staring back with a look of suprise, she hesitated to answer before saying, "He's just goin through a little somethin. Nothing big to worry about..."
"Okay..."
"He's alright...ok? Watch the house 'til I get back."
Koopa made her way down the hill and onto a forest path until she found herself at Tina's tree.
"Tina I know you love this tree, but I need the gem and a little help at home."
No sounds were heard except for the chirps of the birds in the area.
Moving closer to the tree, she called up once more, "Tina?" before jumping onto the lowest limb and climbing into the higher branches.
Peaking her head out of the tree top, she looked around the surrounding area for her sister, but she was no where to be found. That's when she noticed something strange about the tree itself. It's leaves weren't as bright as they ususally are, alot of it's limbs were still strong, but seemed to be hanging down as if it were dieing, and it had no fruits on any of it's branches.
As she climbed down from the tree, it began to tremble. She dropped out of the tree and saw that it was lifting one of it's roots out of the ground. Attached to the end of the root was a familiar small, black velvet bag. The tree held it's up rooted limb out toward Koopa, and she cautiously removed the bag. As soon as she did, the tree pointed it's root toward the forest, then pushed her in that direction.
Koopa looked back at the tree, confused, and started walking in that direction, and the tree's roots returned to it's place. A few yards away from the tree, Koopa picked up the scent of wolfs and blood. Her eyes widened and whirled back around toward the tree which was leaning over a little.
"It's not sick...It's sad...", facing the direction the tree had pointed and running through the woods, Koopa let out an angry growl, "And I think I know why!"
After hours of searching, Tina nor the wolves were found. Dissappointed and sad, she returned to her home to get her head together after checking on Tina's tree.
