There I was, being all mighty and presenting myself while asleep on the couch. The tiny speckles of light glowing off of the ornaments on the Christmas Tree really brought out the particularly fluffy parts of my fur. The rain pattering outside almost made me feel too human. It wasn't until I heard these heavy footsteps break the lull that I realized I still had fluff and was indeed a dog. Of course, those footsteps belonged to the women of the house. The women who I once remember taking good chunk out of before, but that was a mistake, a mistake I wasn't about to repeat. The next thing I know I'm being shooed off of my couch! Even after my paws were on the floor the women continued to come at me, it really sucked.
As mighty as I am, there's nothing I can really do when reality comes crashing down. When you realize that you're just another old dog who is going blind, a friendless old b*****d that blends into the background. I'm not going to say that I'm being harsh on myself, that would be a sign of weakness. But there's a reality that we cannot deny ourselves, that dark pile of s**t we all have in our hearts. Don't even try and deny it, I've seen it in all of you, my humans. b
I could go on and on about how horrible we all are but I don't want to give the idea that we're on the same level, we aren't. I'm down here, looking up.
