- The colour use in the ocean is brilliant, however I feel there should be more difference (in shade and colour) between the submerged and not submerged half of the dog. I don't see the aforementioned fish, so you may want to make them more visible. My biggest problem is that you've got the water textured and coloured in such a way that one would think the camera is underwater. I would either add highlights (ripples and waves) to the surface of the water, or to the sky - to lower the flatness.

I actually agree with renevatio. But I think all of what she said isn't making this boring or anything. Besides, it has beautiful colors and the sea indeed has some shapes that suggest there's something there, but it isn't showing what it is. And it doesn't need to.
I like it~ 4/5 - Report As Spam

Firstly thanks for the critique!
Secondly it's purposely vacant. I did add some faint shadows of fish, but you can't see them clearly at this size. Also it's deep ocean, so near the surface in some areas there is a whole lot of nothing...like a desert.
Ah thanks for the tip about it being a bit flat, I was struggling with that actually. I'm not sure how to bring the water into the foreground. :c - Report As Spam

- It's kind of a boring piece. I mean it's stagnant water, a cloudless sky, and a character off to the side, but nothing else is there. There is a lot of vacant space. There are fish in water, among other aquatic animals. Also, the dog doesn't really look like it's partially under water, probably because the water seems flat like everything else in the picture, so everything looks like it's all apart of the background. Right now there isn't anything in the foreground. Compositionally, it's boring.
