- Title: Sunrise from Masada Fortress
- Artist: Pious Flea
- Description: This was taken at the top of the 4000 year old Hebrew fortress of Masada, which is a major symbol to the Jews due to the defeat at the hands of the Romans which happened there. At the bottom of the frame is the Dead Sea and the River Jordan, with the sun peaking over the mountains of Jordan in the distance. Masada is located in southeastern Israel, on the edge of the Negev desert.

- For anyone else who might cast doubts as to the person who took the picture, unlike many pictures in the Photography Arena, I actually did take this one. It was taken on August 7th and roughly 6 A.M. from atop a risen metal structure that the Masada museum built specifically to see the sunrise. I journeyed to Masada with my Birthright Israel group after a night of sleeping in literally a tent, in the Negev desert. It was taken on an HP Photosmart 435 digital camera.

- I really love the view... It truly looks like you're just looking down on the earth. In a way, it brings to life how small we truly are...
