The first snow flake has fallen,
It floats to the ground,
A small Island the snow has forgotten,
Where a child sits waiting to be found,
The adults run, flustered and busy,
The child wants to run and play,
But the grownups make him dizzy,
Sitting lonely for the Holiday…
Quietly a couple enters the room,
The child wonders, ‘have they come for me?’
And the child is told, “You’ll be home soon,
Never again alone will you be,
For the holidays are to be shared.”
And the child could see that they cared.
