Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Detroit, Michigan, she started dancing in college and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Wayne State University in 2005. She is a guest judge and choreographer on the Fox television series So You Think You Can Dance, directing "combat jazz" and contemporary dance numbers.
