This is a Cosplay of Naota Nandaba in episode 4 of FLCL/Furi Kuri/Fooly Cooly where Naota is forced to swing his "bat" (guitar) at an incoming satellite launched missile which is shaped like a mitt holding a baseball. The avatar represents the moment right before he swings the bat, hence the ref. image.
