also, i tried adding a red sash (the wench cincher) but it would unequip the vest, otherwise nothing looked correct

That is really really really GOOD. I'm really
impressed! I've never seen anyone do Popo! The
only thing you're missing is the sash. Are there
any gentleman sashes in red? Hmmm... probably not,
