The ancient gaian otami peoples worshipped gods. But with every civilization/religeon, there is a spirtual connector. This is the otami's shaman. He communicates with the gods, tell of how pleased or displeased the gods are. The shaman was always considered brave, for if the gods were displeased, he would have to jump of the cliff in sacrafice to please them.
