CHAPTER 94 - SO...YEAH...
I halfway hope he's not asking what I probably think he's asking...
"Um..." Kai looked away. "Yeah..."
The only reason Kai looked away--still blushing--was because I gave him probably the most dumbfound look I've ever given to anybody. It's either he looked away because he was embarrasses I had no clue what he was talking about, or he was trying to hold back his laughter at my retarded expression. He fondled with his fingers a little and he looked at me once again and my complexion hadn't changed any.
"Arisa?" he cocked an eyebrow.
I shook my head a little to wipe that expression off of my face, "I have a question," I held up my finger in front of him. "Why are you asking me to move in with you if I'm already living with you?"
His expression turned to confusion and then understanding, "Oh, no, I meant..." he looked away a little. "I meant just you and me...in our own house...when you're eighteen."
I stared blankly for a second or two and then giggled which soon enough escalated into laughter, "You're wanting to move into another house just as the two of us?"
"Well..." he frowned, "you are my fiancée."
"You have a point," I calmed down, only to freak out. "You mean alone?!"
I didn't allow Kai to answer after I buried myself under the comforters to think to myself. I heard Kai's silent chuckle and I only managed to ignore that; he wants me to move in with him? Alone?
"Sorry," Kai pat my hip. "I probably asked too soon."
I shot up from under the comforters, "I'll do it!" I winced from the pain in my abdomen.
Kai pressed his cool hand against my abdomen and pushed me back gently so I was lying down once more. He frowned at me, "You're sure?"
I bit my lip, blind as to how big of an event it really is, "Y-yeah," I sighed. "I'll move in with you--alone--when I turn eighteen."
Kai frowned at me, "You don't want to,"
"Yes I do!" I shouted. "Do you think I still want to live with your brother and Takeuchi under the same roof??"
He continued to frown, "You sure?"
I nodded, "Yeah, why not?"
"You have to be sure because there is a house for sale outside of Sapporo,"
"Yes, yes, yes, Kai," I frowned, "I'll do it."
Kai sighed and I was pretty sure he didn't believe me. I didn't care; what would the damage be if we just get rid of everybody else? I mean, it's not like we'll do any--oh. He probably doesn't believe me about wanting to move in with him because he probably thinks we'll end up doing things that I don't want to. Does he think I'm that gullible?
"No, Arisa," he pat my shoulder and I turned red at the fact that he heard my thoughts.
"Either way, I'll move in with you," I smiled reassuringly. "It'd be nice to get out of the house."
"The house you're head-over-heels for?"
I sighed and whined, "Yesssss," I sighed again. "So when do we get to see the, um, house?"
"When we move in," he blushed lightly again.
I switched my attention to Akatsuki as he came into the bedroom with a glass of cold green tea for me and he placed it on the end table. A thought came up to mind and I grabbed Akatsuki's sleeve before he left, "Hey, would you mind coming to my graduation and birthday parties?"
Akatsuki cocked an eyebrow, "Parties?"
I nodded, "I'm graduating this weekend, having the party that night, then my birthday is a week and a half after that,"
"Um," he pondered. "Sure, I'll go. What should I bring?"
"Just yourself," I smiled.
"Just remember there is a half Vampire, a Werewolf, and half Werewolf," Kai budged in.
Akatsuki nodded, "Y-yeah, I know,"
"Oh, Arisa, the parties are actually both on your birthday. It's pointless to set up two parties a week and a half apart." Kai frowned.
"Well, geez, thanks for letting me know," I frowned at him.
"So, Arisa, when is your birthday?" Akatsuki asked.
I stared at him, dumbfounded, "Tell me when Aya's birthday is,"
"April twelfth,"
"Good job!" I congratulated sarcastically.
"Oh," he frowned.
"Kai, should we get going?" I looked up at him.
Kai frowned and shook his head, "You should stay here tonight. It will hurt for you to move with that injury."
I rested my hand on my stomach and frowned, "I guess you're right. But Matsuda and Orihime's house isn't that far away."
"I know, but you need rest," he rested his hand on top of mine.
He was right; it was almost ten at night already and I was exhausted. Kai leaned over and kissed my head and snuggled with me for a little bit. I stole a glance at Akatsuki and he really didn't seem to disturbed that I was with Kai again. They must have had a serious conversation if he forgave Kai already...sort of.
"Get to sleep," he kissed the crown of my head. "You need the energy."
I nodded and sighed deeply as Kai pulled the covers up to my shoulders. We both knew that I was more than capable of going back to Matsuda and Orihime's but it was nice to see Akatsuki again. I wouldn't mind staying at his house again. It was scary to think about the last time I was there; Akatsuki tried to kill Kai twice.
It's strange how many things can scare you, including Vampires, Werewolves, certain Necromantic Hunters, and nightglares...
~*~*~*~*~*~
.:{{Dream in Arisa's Perspective}}:.
Mirrors...there were mirrors everywhere. There wasn't a single solitary inch without a mirror. Every inch of wall, ceiling, and ground was covered with the reflective glass. The floor was lined up with perfectly measured one foot by one foot mirror squares. The glass on the walls were tall, probably about ten feet and the ceiling only repeated the same measured patterns as the ground. No matter where I looked, I saw myself.
My dress code was strange, however, because I was dressed in my usual pajamas; underwear and a camisole, only I was wearing a snow white raincoat. My hair had been pulled up into a high messy bun and I was as scrawny as ever. The air in the room was surprisingly warm from the heat that reflected off of the mirrors from the sun seeping through the open doors. Every step I would take on the fragile floor would be a loud hollow thud from the heels of my feet.
Something caught my eye in one of the mirrors and I hurried to it. I pressed my hands against the mirror and tried to glance past my reflection. Very faintly, I saw a pair of glowing red eyes from the other side of the mirror and pearly cuspidate teeth being shown in a sinister grin. I backed away immediately and stood in the middle of the room. That Vampire wouldn't come in here, right? I would be able to see him if he came in.
A slam echoed throughout the empty room and I whipped around to notice one of the doors had been slammed shut. It camouflaged into the walls with its mirrored exterior. I whipped around in circles to look throughout the room but I saw nobody. I whipped around again as soon as I heard the second and final door slam shut.
"H-hello?" I stuttered, noting that the air was becoming chilly suddenly.
A tap from behind a mirror caused me to jump and stop my breathing for a little bit. I knew there was a Vampire nearby, but I didn't know exactly where he was. Another tapping caused my legs to involuntarily walk to the wall where I heard the tapping. My hands pressed against the mirror again and I stared closely into the mirror. The glowing eyes were even brighter and hungrier and his fangs were brighter and more revealing. I had no time to react before the mirror exploded in my face, showering shards all over my face and my body. I shouted and immediately backed up, covering my right eye that had been cut several times by multiple shards.
I looked behind me and below me and there was crimson blood splattered all over. My raincoat was being sprinkled on as well and the blood dripped continuously from my injured eye. I felt the blood trickle down from the cuts on my face and on my body. My raincoat hadn't been zipped shut.
"Such a beautiful scent from a beautiful girl," the Vampire sneered.
I adjusted my vision in my good eye and panicked as soon as I met up with the familiar face of the nomad in my other nightglares. I had seen him so many times--even in real life--and I still didn't know his name. I backed up as quick as I could only to slip on my own blood and land flat on my back and hit my head on the mirror floor, cracking the glass. The footsteps of the nomad were nearing and I flipped myself over to get onto one hand and both of my knees. As soon as I tried to crawl away, I was tackled by the Vampire. He brushed my hair off of the left side of my neck and he inhaled deeply, savoring the scent.
"Your boyfriend was brave to bring you here himself," he chuckled darkly. "I applaud him."
"He...he's possessed by that contract," I gasped.
"Yes, and he fought bravely for such a long period of time," I felt his lips pull into a wider smile against my neck.
"Let me go," I cried, my tears stinging my eye and the cuts they drained into. "Let me go, please."
"Sorry, sweetie, but it's a little late now,"
Before I could say anything else, a sharp pain jolted into my left hand I used to halfway support myself. I looked down only to keep my eye glued to what I saw; the nomad had jabbed a giant shard into the center of the top of my hand. I groaned and gasped, unable to scream as I had wanted to. I looked ahead of me and stared closely at one mirror as I saw Kai's faint figure behind one of them. His complexion was the same as always; pained.
"It's a good thing you wore a raincoat today, sweetheart," he halfway whispered into my ear.
"Wh-why?" I gasped for air.
No verbal response was made, only the quick motion of his hand and his talons dragging across my throat followed by a shower of blood.
