• The shuttle stopped in front of the school which allowed me to take in the full view of the college. (Or at least what my eyes could take in) Most of the school was made out of brick or stone and probably expanded for a couple hundred acres. Jen and I stepped off and walked up the stairs to the main building.
“So…” I said turning to her. “I guess this is where we part.”
“Yea.” she said with sadness in her eyes.
Jen and I met each other in grade 6 and have never been separated. You would’ve thought that we would have gotten on each other nerves being friends so long, but we had a special bond.
“Text me when you get in class.” she said.
    “Okay. Bye.”
    “Bye.”
We solemnly parted our ways and went off to our first class. I had Art Major. The door was open, so I figured we were suppose to just walk in. I sat down at a desk closer to the back of the room next to a window. I looked around. Only a few students had arrived in the cluttered room.
Behind me a pile of metal and wooden easels were pushed up against the wall. To the left of me was a radiator and shelves full of paper. I heard a rapping on the board. Just that quickly, the teacher and the rest of the class had arrived.
“Good morning, I’m your teacher Mrs. Tassel. I will now be passing out a list of rules and guidelines in my class. I expect you to be following them considering you are now mature adults.”
The whole classed laughed. Yeah right, a bunch of 19 year olds are mature. A paper landed on my desk.

    Mrs. Tassel’s Classroom Rules

Rule one: Always have your OWN materials.
Rule two: Pay attention because I’m not going over things twice.
Rule three: No exuberant displays of affection. (Ex: kissing) This will result in a detention after school. Repeated offence is suspension.
Rule four: Use all Art supplies appropriately. Any bodily harm will result in suspensions
    Rule five: Have fun!

Well the rules weren’t that bad considering I didn’t have a boyfriend. I folded the rules up and stuffed in my pocket.
“Ok now for today’s agenda. First we have warm-up. So now I want everybody to pick a partner and we will go on from there.”
Everybody got out of their seats and paired up. I looked around and there weren’t that many people left. I decided on a dude sitting in the other corner, bobbing his head to his iPod. He had long black hair that was tucked in From first to last hoodie. I tapped his shoulder.
“Do you want to be partners?”
    “What?!” he shouted.
I took off his earphones. “Do you want to be partners?” I repeated.
“Uh sure, for what?” he said tucking them away in his bag.
I pointed to Rule two on his untouched rule sheet. He smiled cheekily and pulled his bangs in front of his eyes.
“So what’s your name?” he said sitting his chin on the desk.
    “Haylei Comet. What about you?”
“Art Class.” He said fumbling with his snakebite ring.
    “No seriously.”
“I am being serious!” he said his eyes growing huge.
He took his ID card and sure enough there was a picture of him and under that was “Art Class”.
    “Nice picture.” I smirked.
In the picture, he had a bad dye job and eyeliner running down his face. His clothes were disheveled as if he had just been jumped.
“Hey!” he said tucking it away. “It was raining that day and I woke up late. At least I can drive.”
“What makes you think I can’t drive?”
“You were one of the first ones here.”
    “How’d you know that?”
“Because I saw you get off the bus. I was in the parking lot, but you probably didn’t see me.”
    “Stalker much?”
“Nope! I just always park by the bus stop incase any hot girls need rides.”
    “Nice.” I said sarcastically.
“Okay,” said the teacher grabbing our attention. “You and your partner have to draw each other in 15 minutes. Nothing fancy, just a simple sketch.”
I took my sketch book out my bag and propped it up on my knees. Half way, through my sketch, while I was struggling to draw his nose…
“You have pretty eyes.” He said while still looking down.
“They’re nothing special, just green.” I said tilting my head.
    “Yeah, but they are glowing.”
“Stop kidding around.” I said raising an eyebrow.
He showed his sketch to me. There was nothing on the page but my eyes and he had colored them in. They seemed…mesmerizing unlike mine.
“Oh, you over exaggerated.” I pouted.
“Nope, just drawing what I see.”
“Okay, times up.” Called Mrs. Tassel.
