• Falling love is never an easy thing. Especially if the person you fell for is your best friend. His name was Jake, and we met in third grade. I asked him if he liked me and he said yes. I asked him to be my boyfriend, and again, he agreed. I don't remember what happened, but from then on we were inseperable. It wasn't until ninth grade I realized I was truly in love with him. Now that we're juniors, I see less of him because I switched schools. Not only that, but he's dating one of the girls I just can not stand to even look at.
She's perfect. Everything I'm not and more. She's popular, has money, and she's a skinny athlete. I'm pretty, but I'm not skinny, and I don't have money. And it kills me that I can't be what he wants. He said at one time he had feelings for me, but they faded. He also told me he wouldn't date me because of my weight. Why do I continue speaking to this guy? Because I'm in love with him. How can I possibly be in love with an arrogant jerk? I wish I knew.
"Alex, he's not worth your time. If he can't learn to love you they way you are, then move on and find someone better." My best female friend, Zoe, told me. A tear rolled down my cheek.
"Easy for you to say, you have Kyle." I said, wiping it away. She hugged me.
"Then make him want to be with you." she smiled. I looked at her, confusion in my eyes. She pointed to the stereotypical "rebel" of her school, the same school as Jake's.
"Corey Libman? No. No way! Out of the question!" I said. She grabbed my arm.
"Do you want Jake or not?" she asked, raising a brow. I pursed my lips. It was worth it for Jake. I nodded. She rubbed her hands together.
"Then let's get started." she smiled.
