• The school is big, large, new, a university in all aspects. Funds are high scholarships low, on the surface its the University of Research in Mathmatics and Science. I secretly call it the money-sucking-information-gathering-facility-for-brainiacs. But I don't go there my boyfriend does, Patrick Ramin (Trick) . He's the math whiz * cough * math geek * cough *. But no he's a great guy , sweet, caring, totally sezy, romantic, did I mention totally sexy. We've been tohether for close to three years, for me thats a long time. I do have to confess that i love him a lot. My soul may be free but my heart belongs to him. I wander across the campus and into the main building. Ok so four floors up and turn right, the last door on the the hall. He said to come an see him whenever but i'm still nervous, the professors here are really hardcore. I peer through the open door the class is about ten people, everyonr is chatting excitedly. The professor seems to be in her late 60's , her eyes show little emotion as she notices my presence. I notice Trick talking to a group of people. I walk up behind him silently, he doesn't notice of course he's completely engrossed in his converstaion. “The idea is influenced by basic trigonmecti...bla...bla...bla...” He says i think. “Hey.” i whisper in his ear. He keeps chatting away. Turns-smiles-”Hey.” His face lights up, the people around him wander away. “Here you forgot your key, I thought to drop it off because I'm gonna be working tonight.” I say grinning mischeivously. “Thanks, your wonderful.” He snatches the keys. “Haha so I've been told anyway.” “Yea well you are and i should get back to work. We're discusing ....bla...bla....” He says animatedly. “Ummm nice well I'm off then see you later k.” I give him a light kiss and then flee the room. * shudder * . I'm really no good at math . Well I'm good at word problems and real things like that. But formulas and stuff like that just don't stick. The whole in one ear and out the other thingy. I'm not sure why I'm not that adept at math, I'm good with words and stuff though. I turn left into a stair case, I wander quietly down the empty stair cases. Jeez I'm getting out of shape, I step through a some double doors. I'm blinded by a very white lab and the smell of antiseptis. There are a few people in white lab coats, my heart clenchs. I glance around the room, oh thank goodness my friend Maria is heere. Maria is one of my best friends. I see her come through doors a few feet away. She's in normal clothes, she doesn't attend this school either. I wonder why she is here. I wave frantically, she looks up surprise crossing her face. Maria is just finishing vet school , maybe these mad scientists are doing something with animals. “Hey you have no idea how glad I am to see you. I'm lost in this hell hole.” Haha thought so, everything looks the same here.” She laughs. “What are you doing here anyway? Do you know the way outta here?” I ask hopefully. “Well I'm really not supposed to tell you and ya through there I think.” She points to a metal door with an exit sign over it. Well duh! “YAY!!” I cheer. “Ok lets go.” I say marching her to the door. None of the scientists even look up. The door opens to a staircase...Going down... “I really hate stairs.” Maria says enthusiasticly. “Come on get into shape girl.” We laugh. We descend the stairs chatting about the usual “How are you?” “How have you been?” After a few flights of stairs I notice the dampness in the air. “I think we're underground.” I whisper. The gloomy light seems to swallow my words, smother the echos. I feel my heart clench tightly and Maria shiver beside me. “ Do you think that we should go back?” She whispers. “No I think that theres a door ahead lets continue. Whats the worst that could happen.” I say bravely. I feel Maria relax beside me, well that worked. “Ok sounds good.” She says. After another flight there actually is a door. It opens up with mild difficulty. I'm immeditly washed over with the smell of dirt and surprisingly warm air. Its really dark and i can sense a large space. Maria steps in beside me, we walk in a few paces. Silence echos between us. “We should go back.” I whisper. I turn just in time to see the door silently click closed. You know those automatic door closing hingy thingys , well ya. It has one, panic blossoms in my chest. Maria seems to be thinking the same thing.

    FIGHT OR FLIGHT

She grabs for the doorknob and clenches air. Her hands scan the door. “Theres no knob.” Her voice shakes slightly. The space reminds me of an auditorium, as if all the chairs are gone, as if the stage is missing. Well an auditorium without a stage is still an auditorium. “Come on theres gotta be something in here. I mean a way out. This is a school after all.” I say smoothly. “Ya but this school has a few dark secrets. I really hope that this isn't one of them.” She whispers. “Maria what do you know?” I clutch her hand tightly. “Well the reason I'm here is because the school is cloning animals. They have been doing it for awhile. I mean there getting good at it.” She whispers. “What kind of animals?”
