- He watched as she walked away. He couldnt hear much anymore-it was as if he had just hit 3200 feet and had forgotten to chew gum-but he could tell by the movement of her shoulders that she was beginning to cry. As she slowly faded into the crowd that was amassed of the large quantity of students in this school,-half of which were girls, that he now realized, could never compare to her-he breached a new plain- this girl was the one leaving with a broken heart, not him. And he also rememberd a long-ago, cold night, coffee-shop conversation with his girl, in which she explained why it was she never cried, and how she claimed, her grin barely hiding her slightly sad eyes, "Couldn't fall that far, for she kept her feet firmly planted to the ground'. And as he turned to walk to his final class, he hoped that this would be the last time he would allow a girl to fly for the first time, only to be the one to take away her wings.
