• The room was warm but the atmosphere was tense, this... this had been Ghosts most recent charge. Being who Ghost was he was always in trouble. But what pissed me off the most is that he ALWAYS expected Hector and I to come to the trials. The only reason I did it though was because he was my mate and that's what mates do.
It was only eleven o'clock but we had been sent out until they had finished deliberating his fate. I was talking to Hector about the local race wars and Ghost had wandered off. I looked around and saw a girl about 16 talking to Ghost. She had big eyes that reminded you of tiger eye gems and she had silky straight hair that was the colour of ripe lemons; it was worn in a practical style... probably because we were at the court house. She stood up and she was short and slender and oh so innocent looking. She looked over at us and smiled. She was terribly pale. She brushed away strands of hair and nodded. I felt a thick finger in my side and a sharp pain.
    “Stop looking Curt, you pervert”
“Sorry” I turned away. It got me upset that he feels so free to flirt when he has a major case coming up. But he is my friend so I feel obliged to stick by his side.
He walked over with a huge smile on his face I knew what he was smiling about; so did Hector but he still asked.
“What's with the school boy grin?”
    “See that girl?”
“Yeah” I said pretending to care
“I asked her out... and she... she said yes! You know what that means?!”
“What?” Hector looked at me more confused than ever.
    “It-” I butted in
“It means I will be able to recruit another -”
“NO! IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT!!” the hall went quiet
Suddenly a woman walked into the hall
    “Mr. Shaun Ghostman?”
He stormed off into the court room where he sat as the jury filed in one by one. They all sat except for one who remained standing.
“Your honour, we the jury find the defendant-”
The pause seemed to last forever...
    “Not guilty”
Ghost got up quickly; the world was off my shoulders, off his shoulders. We were all free to go home...

There was a loud knock. It was Ghost... my dad would get the door. I ran out; Ghost had him up on the wall.
    “Alicia go”
“Alicia... you leave now... don't ever come back”
    Ghost pushed him harder
“Ghost don't hurt him” my mouth and voice working without me realising
    “Alicia... GO!”
I ran out the door and got into his car. I saw my father glaring at me from the flat. Ghost came down and jumped in the car.

Ghost had not been home for two days; but we didn't worry. He was always like this. He probably found someone and enforced “the law”.
    My phone rang...Ghost
A woman of African decent stood with a gun to her head. Ghost was the one in control of the trigger.
    “Alicia... shoot her”
    “What?”
    “Shoot her!”
    BANG BANG
She fired to the left of the woman.
    “What are you doing?!”
    “I can't!!”
    BANG
Ghost shot her in the head and walked away.

Curt pushed me into his car
“Don't worry about that; we won't be caught... we never are”
    “You mean this is normal?!?”
“Well we don't always go out and just kill people”
    “Then what was that?”
    “He was enforcing the law”
    “What?”
“your father... didn't you say that after he lost his job he become increasingly violent?”
    “Yeah... but so what?”
“He lost his job to people like that woman! She came here to steal that... not to make a new life”
    “But -”
“Alicia he did the right thing by your father”

    “Hey”
“What's going on Ghost?” it had been a while since we had time to chill out together.
“Hec I need to ask you a favour”
“What is it?” I sat down in fount of him
“I need you to... kill Alicia”
I hated her so my gut spoke for me
“Sure thing but what what's in it for me?”
    “$10 million”
“Deal” I put out my hand to him.

I had known that they were plotting something. From the day she refused to join us. But now it was my life in danger if they knew I had found out; I decided to not tell her until I knew it was too late

I gave Alicia $11 million, I couldn't kill her. I realised she was an innocent in this. She didn't seem to be surprised about such a large sum of money witch made me relax that she was asking question about where I got it from.

I sat at the café no one seemed interested in me. It had been nine months since Alicia and Ghost had met up. It had been 3 months since I saw Hector and Ghost exchange violent deeds and 10 weeks since they plotted her death. It was too late to save her.
Alicia sat down next to be at the bar.
    “You look fatter”
“Yeah I noticed that, and my period has stopped”
    “Gone to the doctor?”
“Ghost won't let me out alone”
    “I can go with you”
“Nah I'll be fine” she was still so young yet she acted so mature it was sat she was so naïve to his actions
    “Are you sure?”
“Yeah” she sighed looking down at her coffee.
“Alicia I think you are in danger”
“Hahahahaha... Curt, Ghost loves me he will protect me from anything”
“That's the thing... I think he will kill you”
“”That's not funny Curt she said sipping her coffee”
    “Alicia... Please”
    “Curt... stop lying!”

We held hands. It was her first time in a plane. We were heading off to London to get married and we were both nervous. The plans were all ready, except Hector had bailed out on me but I had another trick up my sleeve. In one moth we would be married, in two the new will would be set out and three months I would be mourning the loss of Alicia Lisa Bell.

It had been five days since we had landed. I had had cramps and been peeing a lot. So I snuck out to the hospital

    I AM PREGNANT

I had to stay there for assessment. They called Ghost. I think he was mad. Curt looked worried like always and Hector had the normal Steele eyed look he always had when I was around.

2 hours had gone by and she had been rushed off. She was in labour.

I now had a little boy. It complicated matters but nothing I couldn't fix.

I got a call at three in the morning.
“She has just transferred $2 million out of our account into a secret one...”
    “What?”
“I know you said no before but she is stealing from the members”
    “Ghost it's a -”
    “Do it”
    “But -”
    * Beep *

I hadn't seen Ghost all day but Curt had come in earlier and made me sign a new will stating my child received all the money I inherit in case of my death as a safe guard. He was only there for my protection and Hector was the best man.

I sat and watched as she walked down the hall in her dress knowing safely in my jacket was the new will stating the child as the hair and me as the sole care taker in case of her death. Ghost had been stuffed into his suit only minutes before the service. His eyes were cold to her smile but he pretended it was the best day of his life posing for photos getting pissed. We were all travelling back to New York tomorrow for a short trip before their honeymoon.

I hadn't see Ghost all day, he was out to see his mother and make sure she was OK to look after Conner for the day. Hector and Curt had taken me to the top of a beautiful tower. I stood leaning over the edge.
Then I heard Hector scream and I felt my head against the glass as it broke shattering into my face as I fell and saw Curt's arms reach for me, I saw Conner's face and Ghost when we first met then -

    Curt grabbed Hector
“What did you do!!!” Curt shook him with tears in his eyes. People gathered outside around her body. People could be heard screaming at the bottom things like
    “Call 911”
    “What happened??”
    “God help us”
The sirens stopped and Ghost came up on the elevator
    “What happened?”
    “She jumped”
    “Hector pushed her”
As he pushed past them he mumbled
    “Get your story straight”

We were soon cleared and allowed to return to London though the child remained with Ghosts mother. As soon a we were out of the country we all began to relax but Hector stayed extremely agitated. When we arrived in London we planned on taking a bullet train up to Sweden.

Hector was going to crush under the pressure. He stood next to Curt who was close to the tracks, the speaker above us went off announcing that our trains would soon be here. As it was arrived Hector jumped head first into the front of the train. Curt stepped back covered in blood. We were taken to the hospital and made sure we had no signs of trauma, Curt was analysed by the psychiatrist. At that point too much had happened so we left for Paris to hopefully start again.

    3 months later

The door burst open and the FBI within minutes had me in hand cuffs. I was carried away. Residents came out as they watched me unsure of what was happening. I saw Curt who was meant to be in America for 3 weeks more for the will reading was standing in the back row with Conner in his arms with an evil look in his eyes.
As my trail approached they were never able to find him though he was a key witness.
