We had done it.
We had done the impossible.
We had overcome nature.
We had become Gods.
At least, we thought we had. When the cure for "Natural Death" had been discovered the scientific community, as well as the entire world, celebrated with much audasity. No longer would anyone get sick and die from it. No longer would anyone age until their life faded. Cancer, as well as every other major medical mystery, was now a thing of the past. Now people could live forever and never have to worry about parting with the ones they love. We had finally created the perfect world.
Of course, one could still be 'killed'. The only means of death now, was to be killed and with the world rejoicing, crime plummited at an incredible rate. Eutopia had begun. I myself enjoyed long years with my children and my grandchildren, as well as with my great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Humanity had truly become Godly.
...
That was 80 years ago...and times, since then, have changed for the worse. Around 40 years ago, the nations of the world began to notice a serious problem. Since natural death had been eliminated, the worlds population grew 100 times over. Now, the worlds natural recources were being consumed at an alarming rate and food shortages were common around the globe. Chaos erupted from this severe problem. Countries declared war on others in hopes of taking what little recources the other had left. People looted and murdered for their food. The world was quickly falling into a state of utter destruction. But the worst was yet to hit.
2 years after the nations had addressed this problem, a solution was proposed to solve all of the worlds shortages. It was a drastic plan. It was a sick plan. It was humanity's darkest hour. At 2P.M on Sunday, April 15th, 2085, The president, as well as other world powers addressed their nations that "Operation: Recycle" was go. It was world law now that when a person reached the age of 62, they were to be sent to a "Retirement" camp to spend out the rest of their days catered to, taken away from public society to make room for newer, younger people. With the arrival of these "retirement" camps, the worlds recources steadily began to rise, as well as the worlds food supply. It seemed to the unknowing that things had finally gotten back to normal.
However, it was found out later in shocking leaked government footage that when the "Retirees" reached this "retirement" camp, there were no fabulous villas. There was only death. Once you arrived, you were terminated on the spot, along with all the others. From there, your body was harvested and processed for the worlds new "food supply". Humans had begun to recycle Humans. The world could not beleive the horrifying truth that aired on every major news station.
Now, panic has taken hold of the earth and society stands on the fringe of destruction. The world leaders have united and a totalitarian order has taken hold of the worlds nations. People who have reached the age of 62 or above are hunted everyday and harvested for more food. Even as I write this, I too am being hunted. What has happened to the Earth? Who knew all this would be the result of modern medicine? Who knew we would be the very cause of our own demise? We know now...we are not Gods.

- Fairly good, would have been much better if you employed a sort of classified report style. Instead you did a hybrid news report/story. That particular idea would have been much better as an actual long story instead of a short story. Since a big idea was compressed so much it was rushed. Nice try though.
