• I stood staring at sam "I don't know" I said, my voice doubtful "What happens if we get cought?" I asked looking throw the froset, Sam sat on the other side of the fence "We wont get cought" He whispered "I promise". I smiled and lifted the bottom of the fence as high as I could "Come on hurry" I said, my eyes fallowed the thin line of land ahead of her, makeing sure no garuds were passing by. Sam slid under thanks to his lack of body fat "Hurry" he whispered and they both bolted for the froset, she laughed as they held each others hand. Nothing could stop them, not now.

    Sam and me traveled into Berlin, the sun was high and we both wanted to find A good Ca'fe to stop and have lunch at. It's been almost A month sence Sam escaped the camp and no one seemed to notice A new soilder. A small ca'fe came into veiw, It's name was 'Gott-Ca'fe' We looked at each other and smiled heading into the pretty little shop. The sent's were amazing, warm bread and fresh cookies amoung other little treat's greeted them. We both ordered A sandwhich and shared it out one of the tables. The sky was bright and people shufled throw the street's on there daily lifes. "I love you" Sam whispered and I smiled "I love you to" I whispered back, He leaned over the table and kissed me, the first time, we both were deeply drawn togther, no one could break this bond that they shared.

    The mouring was peacful, Sam and me were sitting on my fathers swinging chair. The mouring was quiet until my father pulled up in his small black car. "Teuji!" His booming voice drawed her closer to sam "Yes father" she anwsered back "Get you little a** over here!" he called, I looked at sam nervasly, and then hurried around the house. My father stood, his arms held across his chest which wasn't A good sign "Yes" I asked, when I went silent, the shed in the back of are house, the cains where buseted and the door hung open, water like A small bog covered mothers garden "What happened?" I asked, knowing that was A stupied question. "You tell me" he said annoyed, I stared not sure what really happened here "Looks like the pipes froze" I said in A normal 'It.wasn't.me.tone.' He smiled "No!" he shouted "You were sapposed to cover them when I left eariler!" he shouted, the drew sam from the swing "It's alright I'll fix it" He offered, Father seemed to clam a little bit "Good young man you got here" he said, turning he headed into the house mubbling under his breath, I looked at sam and we both smiled getting to work on the pipes.

    It's been almost two years sence me and sam meet. Something happened that night, the moon was fulll and the sky was clear, Sam took me out to A small pound. He stood staring at the sparkling water for A moment then faced me, He smiled and got onto his knee, I stood stunned for A moment. He pulled out A small black box and opened it reviling A small golden ring with A singal dimoned periched on it. "Teuji will you marry me" he asked, Tears wealed in my eyes and I nodded, He placed the ring on my finger and I warped him In A long lasting hug, I tought this would last foever. But I was worng.

    Sam came to me today, he wore A heavy frown and his brown eyes were full of sarrow "There sending me to poland" He choaked out, I gawked at him. I cryed in his arms that night "Retun safly" I whispered. "I will" He promised and we kissed for the last time before he was huild.

    Days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months and still no letters from Sam, she sat in the living room on A sunning mouring waiting for the mail, when three brisk knocks came to the door, She looked up. She hurried to the door and opened it, Three souliders stood fully dresed, there face's solum. I looked confused "Yes?" I asked, the shortis one steped foward, handing her A envalop. "I'm sorry ma'am" he said and turned, the souilders turned and left. I looked at the envalop, my heart sank.

    I'm sorry if your reading this note then It means that I have died. I wanted to let you know that I loved you and I wish I could have seen you again.

    My heart sank, I was shaking and crying before I finshed the note. I sank to my knee's and sobbed. No one could have replaced Sam, not even the perfact guy. She cryed the hole night until she fell Asleep.

    years after Sam's death, and the end of WW2, Teuji retired to her little house in the woods, she vist's the pond where Sam praposed to her and kept the note. She didn't move on no matter how many men asked to be her husband, she remand loyal. The moon was full and the mist heavy, A familer figure steped out of the mist, sam stood and put his hand out, Teuji took his hand and they kissed under the moon light.
