• Chapter 2: Nightmares? Aren’t I getting too old to be getting nightmares?

“Alyyyyza…” Something eerily hissed, freaking the life out of me.

I turned around in horror, seeing a dark thing covered in shadows with the sharpest fangs I’ve ever seen.

“Go away!” I screeched at it, hoping it would go away. As if it would…

The dark thing covered in shadows grinned. A very creepy grin. It laughed sinisterly, making my eyes grow huge.

    I froze, unable to move.

In the back ground I heard a clock tower go…Tick…tock….tick…tock…

    I swallowed. My face grim.

The dark thing shifted, moving toward me.

I took a step back in an instinct.

The dark thing crackled with dark laughter, finding my behavior amusing.

“G-get away from me, I’m warning you…” I stuttered out, gripping my hands.

“You? A mere human girl giving me a warning?” It gave another dark back chilling laughter.

I bit my lip, taking another step backwards.

It smirked, coming toward with amazing speed. My heart leaped with panic.

Quickly, I turned around and ran. Ran with all my might.

“Alyza.” A voice called out ahead of me.

There a long red and black sword was bestowed before me, floating in this air.

As if something was urging me to go ahead and take it.

Without hesitation I grabbed the sword.

I blinked. It was much lighter than I had suspected. I felt…as if I had held it before… As if this sword was made for me…

It’s beautiful color. The atmosphere it gave off. The unusual markings that covered it. It all was so… familiar. So familiar that it scared me.

“Alyyyza, my dear, where are you?” The creepy dark voice called out, nearly stopping my heart.

I recovered quickly, holding out the sword in front of me.

The dark thing came into the brief light, almost making me drop my sword right then, right now.

It was hideous. It was an overgrown salamander with bugs crawling out of its eyes. It eyes bloody red, hungry. Half of its body was not covered with flesh…Just bones…

I fought back a blood curling scream, by biting my lip so ever so hard.
But I must have made a sound because the salamander… or should I say beast turned around with its bloody hungry eyes staring at me. It smiled darkly.

“There you are, my dear. I was wondering if you would be accepting on being my dinner.” Its voice had a bit of amuse mixed in it.

I had trouble breathing at that point and my feet slipped from under me, making me crash down onto the rocky surface.

I winced, feeling something warm on my elbow. My eyes grew larger, flickering toward to my elbow. It was what I had expected. My blood.

The beast before me was drooling… having a hard time himself on controlling his hunger.

“What a sweet smell… Delicious…” It smiled, so large that its teeth were peeking out.

    I stared, still in shock.

“Alyz.” The same voice called out to me, making me snap back into my mind.
But I was a bit too late. The salamander leaped on top of me, it’s claws digged into my skin, making me scream.

I struggled, trying to push the salamander off me. Tears forming in my eyes.

“Why resist? You’re just going to be my dinner anyway.” The salamander said darkly, his gaze meeting mines.

“NO!” I cried out, still having the strength on lifting the sword and stabbing in directly in the salamander’s heart.

I breathed in unevenly, driving the sword deeper in the flesh.

I hear the salamander gave out a soft gasp.

“You pass the test, Alyza. You truly are the one.” It smiled darkly, but also had a hint of sadness in his bloodly eyes.

The salamander exploded into ashes. The ashes splattering all over me, making me cough widely.

    Then something grabbed my hand.

Terrified, I grabbed the sword, waking it with my sword. But the sword wasn’t in my hands.

“Lyz. Calm down. Snap out of it!”
