    Part Two

There was this annoying beeping sound that made consiousness slowly invade my body.A moment later I heard a crash and the beeping immediately went silent. It was then that I knew it had to be my alarm clock, and Izbee had thrown it against the wall. Again.

"Izbee, why do you have to do that? That's the third one this month." the words mashed together as I sat up.

"Yeah, well, maybe you should turn it off sooner. It's been going off for about five minutes!" the words were nearly a hiss.

I looked down at my feet as I gently placed them on the floor, careful not to step on the peices of shattered alarm clock that had, unfortunately, been scattered around the room. Either way, I always refused to look at her wall. Too many annoying boy-band posters. God how I hated those posters.

After taking a shower, getting dressed, and brushing my hair and teeth, I met Izbee in the girls-dorm-house kitchen. "Hey, Izbee. Have you seen the House Mother? Our water pressure is on the fritz again."

"No, I can't say I have." she grabbed her toaster that just popped out of the toaster.

As I sighed and turned awayfrom her I noticed, for the first time that morning, that there were more girls in the small-ish kitchen.

Lindsey, one of the students here at Midnight Academy, turned away from the counter with her bowl of Lucky Charms.

"Good morning, Sai, Izbee." she said as she sat at the small island. "Did you hear that crash earlier?" she said as she put a spoon-full of cereal into her mouth.

As she said that I automatically knew that she was talking about my alarm clock.

I told her about it, with Izbee putting some of her two-sense. She laughed along with the other girls in the room.

"Oh!" I said as I stole a peice of Izbee's toast and stuffed it in my mouth. I knew she was glaring at me. "Did you hear about the misterious deaths and dissapearances? They're happening all around the school. And I hear that it happens at exactly midnight." I said around a mouthful of toast.

"Yeah, I think the Head Master is calling it the 'Midnight Sadness' or something like that." Izbee blurted out.

Lindsey then said, in a sad kind of voice, "Yeah, I know. My roommate, Leah, died only a few days ago. They beleive that this incident is related." she then only starred into her cereal and stirred it around a bit.

I felt bad for her. I, knew Leah was a good, nice person, even though I'd only talked to her a few times. She was still a nice girl.

Suddenly I had lost my appetite. I stood up and told Izbee that I was going to head to class early. She gave me a slight okay and I walked out of the door and into a large room with a big, widescreen television on either of the main walls.

I then headed out the main entrance of the door and headed to the school buildings.
