    I sat in the corner of the breifing room. I could hear their whispers. "Matiki....but thats a Talionian name." I didnt look up untill Comander Jarvis called us to attention.
    "I have called you here today for two reasons. First of all, Matiki stand up.
    I stood. Every eye in the room was on me. "This is Alec Matiki. He was born on Talion and raised on the planet Cerulea for five years, ten following on a starship that travled accross the solar system of Sedon on a daily basis. He knows more about our enemy then every member of earths military combined.
    im leaveing him in charge of this misson."
    A woman with red hair pulled into a tight bun stood up. "But sir he cant be any older than eight teen." she said. "Barely an adult, hes a child."
    "Hes nighteen. And hes more valuable than you give him credit for. Matiki id like you to meet Emerald May, navigations expert. dont let her fool you shes tough." He switched back to his original subject. "Now the secound thing is your being moved. Canada has been attacked. Were sending this squadron to Ontario. Should be a little warmer there then here. Go get yourselves ready and meet back here in the morning."
    I made a face. "Its still snowing there." I muttered to myself.
    One of the men from my new squad approched me. He held out his hand. "Hi my names Joseph, but call me Joe."

    "Call me Alec, hate my last name."
    "Whys that?"
    "Reminds me of who people think i am"
    "Humans....we judge people for things they cant help."
    "Ya we do.'' I sighed.
    We went are seperate ways to prepare to leave for ontario.

    the next day
    The ride in the transport was silent. Even when we wernt asleep. No one spoke, unless they were talking to family. no one even looked at me except for Joe who waved once. When it was my turn with the screan phone I put in Kianis number. I was filled with joy remembering i handnt spoken to her in months. The last time we had seen eachother we were both crying, waveing goodbye.
    Her face appereed on the small screan. "Hello......OH MY GOD ALEC!!!!"
    "Hey kiani."
    "What are you doing baby? I havnt herd from you in so long."
    "Were being moved to Ontario, Canada."
    "Oh yeah, the attack." She looked grim. "Al i hate to tell you this but....Travis was in Shaw when it was attacked."
    "The Air force base in south carolina?"
    "Yes, Im sorry Alec but hes dead.''
    I hung my head. Travis was a friend of mine from training camp. He was seventeen, lied and said he was eighteen so he could get into the Air force. Never thought hed die.
    "Alec?"
    "Yeah baby."
    "Theres something else. I didnt know untill the day after you left but, Im Pregnant."
    We talked about the News for several minuets. Ok I'll admit, out of wedlock but we were engaged and we were worried (She was, i wasnt) that i wasnt comeing back.
    Eventualy i had to go. "Kiani im sorry i have to go. I promise ill come back, we'll get married and raise our baby together and I'll get to kiss you and hold you again. i love you."
    "I love you Alec. good bye.''
    "Bye."
    I actualy cried. I didnt know when id be able to call her next. Would i get to see her baby bump get bigger? Would i see my child born? First steps? Would I ever see her again?
    Joe moved seats to sit by me. "Heyy kid."
    I stoped crying. "Woa kid, You dont have to stop on my account."
    "Im not a kid."
    "To me you are im 36."
    "Do you have kids Joe?''
    "Yes, a boy and a baby girl."
    "Is it hard, not seeing them?"
    "Yes."
    "My Fiance is pregnant."
    Joe stayed silent. He patted me on the back. That was the last word spoken on the transport before.........

    The front part of the transport exploaded and we all fell onto the back floor."
    We all grabbed our plasma rifles and piled out of the transport. It was cold, snow covered the ground. At first we saw nothing that couldve been the sorce of the attack, untill a ball of fire fell from the sky.
