• Chapter Four: The Love of All
As Lola left Kino walked in. He wore a pair of light brown leather pants that looked almost Indian. He also had a black tee-shirt and a brown jacket. On his head was a headband that went under his bangs. It had an inscription on it that none of them could read.
“Can I have a word with the dimwit in the bed please?” He hadn’t hesitated to pick a fight with Jack. Kino wouldn’t even look him in the face.
“Yes you may, his name is Jack. Please mind your manners. We don’t want father to know that you were being rude to our guests now do we.” Kino looked at Shadowpaw and gave her a look of disgust and turned away.
“Does that mean that you two are siblings?” Ryland was shocked at what Shadowpaw had said.
“Yes, we are, unfortunately. We’re three years apart.”
Kino was not happy to say so.
“If your just three years older than him then how old are you?”
“I’m 16. I know, I know, I look young for my age.” Shadowpaw was beginning to blush of embarrassment.
“Your 16! If your 16 then why do you have white hair?” Emi was lost. Then Shadowpaw transformed into a grey wolf. “Okay, I guess that would make sense. It makes more sense than everything else around here.”
“Now that we’re done with the chat can I speak with Jackle over here?” Kino was now infuriated.
    “It’s Jack not Jackle!”
    “I don’t give a damn!”
“You should, it’s my name, koso!”
    “KINO!”
“Yah well, I don’t give a damn either!”
“Stop fighting NOW! I’m tired of your bickering, as far as I’m concerned you’re both acting like bozos!” Shadowpaw had had enough. She left with Emi and Olivia.
“So, you wanted to talk. You didn’t seem too shy a minute ago kiso.”
“Kino, for the last time its kino. I don’t normally hit the wounded but for you I just might make an exception.”
“Just because I’m in this bed doesn’t mean I can’t kick your butt…”
“He says to the one who put him in the bed in the first place. If your going to act tuff at least put some effort into it.”
“If your so tuff then why not just get rid of your problems? I bet you could do much better without the rules of this pack. And if we haven’t met before why do you have such a bad attitude towards me?”
“Let me worry about my problems and deal with them my way. And do you really think I’m such an idiot to not leave this pack? If I leave I have to leave the forest and I can’t come back. That means I’ll never see my family or my friends.” He emphasized on the word friends.
“So this is about Lola, is it?”
“What if it is? What could you do about it? Listen, as long as you don’t do anything funny, I’ll keep my claws and fangs away from your throat. Got it?”
“Only if you answer me this one question. Other wise there’s no deal.”
    “What is it?”
“Do you like Lola? Or do you just have dibs or something?”
“Dibs? I don’t know what that is but if your asking for my relationship with Lola then the answer is that we were engaged the day I was born.”
“No way! She can’t even keep a boyfriend! She tears them to threads! Being engaged is like suicides! You’re crazy!”
“You may think so but I’ve known her longer than you have! She has had a bad relationship with other men because she new about us!”
“She thought you were a dog! She’s not demented! And if you were engaged the day you were born that means that she doesn’t really love you! She’s too young! Does she even know about the engagement?”
“Well, um. The truth is that she, um, doesn’t, uh, really know…”
“Ha! She’s doesn’t even know! That means it’s not really official! You have nothing over her! You can’t say you’re engaged when it’s not true for both sides!”
“I don’t care what you say. That’s how works here! You’re the one who knows nothing!” Kino shouted this just before he stormed out leaving jack confused and extremely mad.
