• Nobody wanted me anymore. Nobody.
Mom had left me on that concrete step while I was asleep, in a box. She just left me there after Dad did too. She just left me on that concrete step in front of a gloomy orphanage. Nobody talked to me, nobody looked at me. Not even teacher. Nobody.
It was the white day of snow when I met him, my hero. I was so lonely that I just decided to go on a short walk. It was so quiet and peaceful....
Until I slipped on the steep hill.
I screamed my lungs out, but no one came, because nobody wanted me... Nobody.....
I slid under a tree from the snow and grabbed a low branch. Unfortunately for me, the entire tree was covered in snow, so because of the branch I had grabbed, all the snow fell on top of me. My face burned with the cold of the snow, and the snow was getting heavier... Heavier...
A hand shot out and grabbed mine. It wasn't soft like a girl's, so I could tell that it was a boy. I couldn't think, so I didn't resist.
I gasped for air as soon as I reached the surface. I saw my rescuer's face, a year or two older than me. He helped me up and gave me a vial with a small white rose in it. He smiled at me, and before I could thank him, he ran away.
For the first time, somebody wanted me, and you know what? It felt really good.
